Halle Berry Wedding Dress Mystery Solved
She’s currently heavily pregnant, but Halle Berry still managed to wear couture to her wedding to Olivier Martinez.
And thanks to some blurry paparazzi pics and eagle-eyed bridal fashionistas, we even know the precise dress she donned.
However, one single paparazzi photo of her in the back of a car – with only her shoulders visible – prompted a bridal manhunt for ‘the dress’.
Chances are, based on the shoulder decorations, that Halle chose a Jenny Packham wedding dress off the 2013 runway.
It has delicately embroidered shoulders and a Swarovski crystal belt, which was probably custom-altered to fit her baby bump. It’s also predominantly backless – with a delicate crystal frame around the shoulder-blades.
What did Olivier wear? No clues as yet – but he once fronted an Yves Saint Laurent campaign, so perhaps one of their Spring 2013 black tuxedos.
What do you think of Berry’s fantasy gown?
It only had three pieces, but already Kanye West’s foray into menswear is a much bigger hit than anything he’s designed for women.
His collaboration with French label APC has sold out in a matter of hours.
The casual collection, which includes hoodies, T-shirts and jeans, has come under fire for selling a plain white T-shirt – albeit with a Kanye label – for US$120.
However, that’s not stopping fashion-forward men from nearly crashing the site in pursuit of the streetwear.
The creative director of APC, Jean Touitou, told the press that Kanye is so exacting that the collaboration took two years – just to design ‘three items’.
Apparently West was so over-enthusiastic – he wanted things to be both skinny and baggy at the same time – that “when we finally finished this collection, I felt like, Okay, if I made this happen, then I can achieve peace in the Middle East,” Touitou said.
If you want to get a hold of some APC West style for yourself, you’re in luck – the store is restocking to meet the huge demand.
Many rappers made their most successful forays into fashion via menswear – P. Diddy, Nelly and Jay-Z all have hugely popular streetwear labels.

If you want to update your jewellery collection for winter, do it with some summery panache. Coral shapes are everywhere, and will brighten up even the dullest cold-day outfit.
Don’t shy away from brights and summer-inflected jewels just because of the dark days. Bright accessories are massively in for 2013, as is coral print (it was all over the couture catwalks!) – so work some coral into your wardrobe.
Kenneth Jay Lane, one of the biggest jewellers in the US, currently has two gorgeous coral-inspired pieces over at The Outnet, one of our favourite online boutiques. The coral-effect earrings, shaped like coral branches in vivid scarlet, are gorgeous, but we’re in love with the coral bracelet: an enamel cuff in red with gold studs, for under-the-sea flavour.
Want something more subtle? Momocreatura over at Boticca.com has produced a single, artisan coral earring on a long silver chain. It’s for statement pieces without the price tag.
And if you want the look of coral but can’t quite match the vivid pink-red to your wardrobe, go to Anndra Neen over at Avenue32. Her coral cuff has all the outlines of glorious coral shapes that featured in the 2013 couture season – but rendered in pure silver.
Or there’s Spanish designer Ines Susaeta, who produces exact replicas of coral branches as pendants in both silver and bronze.
Bright colour on your menu? We love the blue and coral necklace by Brazilian label Nangara – it’s blue thread with pieces of orange Brazilian coral studded across the neck. Definitely the piece to liven up a pale cashmere jumper.
If you’re a fan of genuine materials, the real coral used in Annette Ferdinansen‘s coral-branch drop earrings is gorgeous quality – with a price tag to match. For a more wallet-friendly version, though, Designs By Stephene has coral branching earrings in a variety of colours made out of imitation resin.
Will you be getting into coral-shaped jewellery this winter?
