Tis the season for sales madness. Let Rescu. guide you – we’ve got your guide to picking up the best fashion bargains from all your favourite brands, plus Heidi Klum’s best tips for rocking an LBD – and more…
Now the frenzy of Christmas shopping is over, it’s time to do a little for yourself. Rescu. has the best picks of the summer sales – and the discounts will wow you and your wallet.
If you’ve been wanting to invest in girlie pieces, Fleur Wood and Alannah Hill are both hosting sales. Our pick of the Alannah stock includes beautiful cardigans for winter, while at Fleur Wood there’s 40% off her signature floaty dresses.
For more classic tailored workwear, we’re loving Cue, whose sales are legendary. Many of their classically tailored dresses are down from $300 to $150 or less in stores. Karen Millen’s end of season sale has also now begun, with all the pieces from their SS2012 collection up for grabs.
If you like more than one label to choose from, little-known fashion fave eco d, which is a source for edgy pieces from Manning Cartell, LIFEwithBIRD, Odd Molly and others, is slashing 80% off their old-season stock. It’s the best place to go if you’re feeling a little tired of more mainstream looks.
Want designer clothing straight from the runways? Poepke, which stocks avant-garde overseas fashion from designers like Ann Demeulemeester, has been running a sale at 80% off since Boxing Day, to make room for new season items. Get in now to find a real bargain before it all disappears.
If online shopping is your style, ASOS is holding a 70% off sale – particularly useful as they’re based in the UK, and are trying to move all of their summer stock. Check out their dresses and tees – many in the ‘designer’ section are up to 50% off.
And if you’d like some footwear, Topshop Online has some delicious sales on flats – we’re loving their pointed studded slippers and patent T-bar shoes, both incredibly on-trend for summer.
Or, for a more luxe angle, check out PeepToe’s sale, which has suede and mesh pumps in all sizes slashed to under $100. We particularly love the Miss Peaseblossom 1940s-style floral pumps.
Ready, set, get shopping!

Rescu. loves Andrej Pejic, the androgynous leader of the pack in the model world and a proud Aussie citizen.
And now the pretty Pejic has landed a major coup: his first big-name cover.
Elle has given him the cover of its Serbia issue, which is fitting considering Pejic’s Serbian roots, and interviews him inside.
Pejic first shot to world fame when Jean Paul Gaultier sent him down the runway in a wedding gown, and has since rocketed from campaign to campaign, met the Queen and become a tabloid favourite.
However, models are measured by their covers – Kate Moss, for instance, has hundreds to her name – and this is a major coup for Pejic’s fledgling career.
And Rescu. will tell you the secret why: it shows that he’s not just a novelty, but an actual talented model who can carry clothes impeccably.
We’re hoping Vogue catches on next – possibly a shoot in Vogue Italia alongside a voluptuous supermodel might be the next step. We’ll keep you posted on his meteoric rise through the ranks.

Heidi Klum’s latest shoot for Marie Claire, shot at the beginning of Hurricane Sandy in NYC, is a fantastic primer for how to work your LBD.
Rescu. has picked out the best tips and tricks from the shoot – get those black dresses ready…
1. Work a bare back. Even if you’re not built like Klum, a bare back or shoulders is a good way to inject sexiness into an all-black outfit. Work it with length – a long black dress or trouser suit with unexpected bare spine is chic, refreshing and on-trend.
2. Do textures. The stylists at Marie Claire mixed up a silk tuxedo jacket with a rich patent leather skirt, but even if you’re too scared to try leather, think of mixing up textures in an all-black outfit. Try feathers, silks, suedes and even sequins – yes, for daytime.
3. Sheer is in. Klum’s Stella McCartney minidress shows off the advantage of a sheer accent in an LBD: it gives interest without detracting from the silhouette. Look for sheer sleeves and necklines – they’re shaping up to be the places of interest in 2013.
4. Accessorise boldly. We loved the archaeological feel of Klum’s accessories – very 2013, very fresh. Go for volume and pump with an LBD and you’ll never look back. For this year, we’re seeking out hammered metals, coppers and silvers.
5. Cut-outs are in. Klum worked it in a Lanvin bodysuit, but cut-outs are the 2013 way to make an LBD up-to-date. Look for cut-outs that are slinky rather than overtly sexy – ones that highlight your waist or back rather than your torso or decolletage.
Want the look? Rachel Parry at Shopbop has a slinky version, and both Herve Leger and Michael Kors are working black cut-out LBDs.
