It was the news that made us all lose a little faith in love – Seal and Heidi Klum are separating.
Now that Klum has entered the realm of celebrity divorcees, Rescu. are dying to know – just what will she wear to the divorce court?
Court appearances for the higher-profile celebrities are a particular kind of runway (ask Lindsay Lohan) – and their fashion choices reveal a lot about their state of mind.
When Britney Spears filed for divorce from Kevin Federline, she suddenly appeared in a classy, sexy shift dress – a clear signal that she wanted to appear the ‘mature one’ after a series of sloppy paparazzi photos.
Heather Mills went the complete opposite direction, with a bizarre three-piece denim/khaki/red suit which did nothing to improve her reputation.
Many celebrities avoid the ‘pap walk’ by declaring their divorce only after they’ve filed the papers – ruining our chances to assess their fashion. However, Klum hasn’t filed – yet – so what do you think she should wear?
She could go fluffy and flighty in floral Rodarte, to signal that she’s still young and very happy. Or perhaps a bright print suit from Versace, to prove that she really can wear anything.
Perhaps some D&G or YSL dark suiting, to say ‘I mean business’? We’d LOVE it if she showed up in high-drama mourning McQueen – perhaps like what Daphne Guinness wore to his funeral, replete with 10-foot black cape.

The burlesque icon, whose book Burlesque was a best-seller, memorably wed Marilyn Manson in a Vivienne Westwood gown and Phillip Treacy hat (cementing her fashion credentials).
However, what’s the verdict on the lingerie? General consensus: if you’re into vintage-style pieces, 1940s slink and leopard print, you’ll love the range. This is not for shrinking violets.
Von Teese garnered inspiration from her own vast vintage lingerie collection, and it shows – the slips, patterns and high-waisted panties all show a decidedly golden-days-of-Hollywood influence.
Retro is all the rage. We guarantee more than a few fashionistas will get von Teese’s range from besotted admirers come Valentine’s Day.
Our picks? The leopard-print suspenders, slip and clear mesh long gloves. Enough to keep you purring.

Alice By Temperley Talent, the new initiative, is a shrewd cross-promotional move from the media-savvy designer, who garnered a near-riot at London Fashion Week when Pippa Middleton showed up in her front row.
The rules? New designers send in their ‘reinterpretations’ of her Alice By Temperley line. The winners will be featured in a short film to be disseminated online.
More promotion for Temperley, a springboard for the young and hungry – nobody loses!
However, Temperley may prove unwilling to share her extremely select address book, which includes both Middleton sisters and most of London’s fashion elite.

Olympia Le Tan’s style? Bags and accessories styled after quirky real-ife objects, particularly books. And her latest collection takes it to new extremes.
Le Tan has produced 36 bags for Pitti W, the female version of the annual Pitti Uomo show held in menswear in Florence, Italy.
The inspiration? Italian film and literature – of course, darling.
However, the real power behind Le Tan is not just raw talent but star power itself. She has some extremely powerful friends in the fashion business – Sofia Coppola and Tilda Swinton among them.
Unfortunately the cult bags continue to be unavailable to mere mortals, though knock-offs are proliferating rapidly.
Le Tan has been accused of being ‘gimmicky’ and relying on famous friends, so it will be interesting to see how her latest collection is received.
