Kristen Stewart has won the Best-Dressed Celebrity gong – but some people wonder whether she truly deserved it. Have your say…
She’s best-known in the fashion world for her off-screen casual jeans-and-tees look, but tomboy Kristen Stewart was the surprise pick for Best-Dressed Woman by British Glamour.
She beat last year’s winner, Emma Watson, to the top spot, with Kate Middleton coming in at fourth place, and Victoria Beckham in a respectable third.
However, Stewart’s selection is now getting incredulous reactions from fashion commentators, who insist she still looks ‘awkward’ and ‘uncomfortable’ in red-carpet looks, rather than impeccably styled.
Stewart was a fashion disaster a year ago when she chopped her hair into a mullet to play 80s icon Joan Jett in The Runaways, a haircut she’s since grown out – but her personal style is now up for debate.
Glamour thinks she’s gone “from awkward teen to style queen”, citing her use of Balmain minidresses on the red carpet, but Stewart’s firm insistence on trucker hats and belly shirts off camera have some fashion commentators wondering what Glamour was thinking.
It’s now being whispered that Stewart stole the crown from Victoria Beckham, who always looks impeccably styled on and off duty, due to a big promotional push for the latest Twilight movie.
What do you think – was Stewart worthy of the honour, and is tomboy style your new go-to?

The $10,000-a-day quip was not exaggerated.
90s supermodel Linda Evangelista, who has clocked up recent campaigns for Chanel and has the cover of Vogue Italia this month, is asking for a record-breaking $46,000 a month in child support from her baby’s father, Francois-Henri Pinault.
Pinault, as Rescu. readers will know, is the head of the LVMH luxury conglomerate – and is in a relationship with Salma Hayek, with whom he has a daughter.
Apparently he and Evangelista had a fling while he and Hayek were ‘on a break’, a New York court was told – and now Evangelista is going for gold. It will be the highest child support payment in history if it passes court.
The current highest payment for a single child is paid every month by P.Diddy, who pays $19,000 US – but Evangelista insists she and Augie, her son, are entitled to almost three times that.
Evangelista didn’t identify Pinault as the father until attempts to get him to privately support her son broke down last year, and all tabloid hell broke loose. Pinault has romanced some of the most beautiful women in fashion, but Hayek made no public comment and has remained by his side.
Evangelista also defended her exercise and beauty regime to the courts as ‘necessary for work’ when they questioned her high demand.
Apparently large amounts of the money will be put in trust for Augie, the same as Salma Hayek’s daughter Valentina, on whom Pinault has apparently already settled nearly $1bn.
Oh, to be a fly on the wall in the court hearings. Hell hath no fury like a supermodel scorned…

Autumn is here, and it’s time to wander the streets looking classic and windswept with a gorgeous trench.
It’s the essential item on every fall shopping list, and Rescu. is here to help you find your perfect trench, without the Burberry price tag.
Classical looks are all very well, but the trench has undergone a reinvention lately, with leather sleeves, colourful piping, spikes and patterned linings making the whole look very up-to-date. It’s a case of less-is-more, however – don’t purchase an over-embellished one unless it’s exclusively for night-time wear.
Look for good lining – a trench must always be lined, for warmth and weather protection. Don’t accept flimsy makes, either. These are built to last.
The ideal shape should swing just above your knee, with an elongated shoulder, epaulettes, shoulder-flaps, a high collar and a waist-belt in the same material as the coat. Loose fit is fine if you’re intending to wear it open – French women often fasten the belt at the back, and let the coat hang open to show off their outfit.
Sleeves should be able to be pushed up or folded back to reveal the lining, which often these days is delectable and unexpected, with stripes, paisleys or florals on offer.
Material should be proper thick cotton, nothing thin – trenches are always a lot heavier than they seem. Buttons are a big part of the classic trench. Look for the big traditional kind, round and dark, in a single row. Double-buttoned trenches exist but can look a bit boxy on women with bigger busts, so avoid that if that’s not your thing.
Find a trench where the waist-belt sits exactly on your natural waist-line, and will fit you accordingly. Ideally the silhouette should flare at the bottom to give you that slight 1940s look and show off your rain-boots.
As for colour, the classic camel never goes out of fashion, as does black or brown – but bright jewel colours are also around and look fantastic on grey days. Avoid white, which can make you look a bit like a 1960s leftover unless it’s in very good material.
Now enjoy flourishing your umbrella…
