Rescu. gives you all the gossip from New York, from the trends to the behind-the-scenes gossip…
The big news story from New York this week isn’t Katie Holmes showing Holmes & Yang at the Lincoln Centre, or Anna Wintour at the after-parties.
It’s all about the models – and particularly young Aussie face Codie Young.
Young is an experienced model, but this particular NYFW was her time to shine – and she’s strutted for Thakoon and Richard Chai, with more coming up.
She also seems to be the unofficial ‘face’ of the season, with her picture taking front and centre in news reports on the fashion at hand.
It all shows Gold Coast-born Young is entering the realm of Gemma Ward and other Aussie supermodels before her – recognisable, highly paid and able to open a show all on her own. We’re excited for her.
The other big-name model of the season wasn’t on the front pages for her fashion.
Liberty Ross, Rupert Sander’s estranged wife, took triumphantly to the catwalks, and a frenzy ensued.
Ross, a British model who’s worked with Galliano and McQueen, is, of course, the woman on whom Sanders famously cheated with Kristen Stewart.
Stewart has a movie coming out soon, and normally Fashion Week would be a PR stop for her to look glamourous in front rows, particularly since she’s on this month’s cover of British Vogue (photographed before the scandal). But with Liberty ruling the runways to mass acclaim, she’s wisely stayed away.

What do you get for the brand that has everything?
Dior has decided it knows – and launched its own Dior magazine.
It isn’t a typical editorial-driven sort of publication. After all, Dior’s aim is to snare luxury consumers, not to provide critical updates on rivals or trends.
And there will be no mention of troubled John Galliano in the pages, even though he remains in the headlines for his lawsuit of unfair dismissal against Dior.
The 110-page magazine is pure Dior – its cover features Marion Cotillard in one of the most famous Dior pieces in history, the New Look skirt, jacket and hat first photographed in Paris in 1947.
That image alone is a collector’s dream, but inside is an exclusive look into the Dior inner world, from design inspirations to intimate parties.
It’s all been designed by Fabien Baron. No news on where it will be available – but we suspect it may be distributed to exclusive customers only, at least to begin with.
A pity – we’d love to have that first copy to preserve for history.
