Naomi Campbell is about to be on live television yelling at models, Oliver Peoples has launched a surprising new collection and we pick the best clutches for your holiday wardrobe – read on for more…
The Face was always going to be riveting television.
With Coco Rocha, Karolina Kurkova and Naomi Campbell going head-to-head to determine the new face of a beauty brand in the US, it’s shaping up to be good entertainment.
However, a new trailer reveals it’s even more exciting than we thought – and features Campbell in various stages of rage.
Each supermodel has a ‘team’ she personally selects – the girls with the most potential – and coaches them towards stardom.
And the competition to pick girls and get them to perform apparently, and predictably, leads to pressure, havoc, and Campbell yelling ferociously and telling people she’s disappointed.
Rocha, a married Mormon, is unlikely to get too upset on-camera, but we’re sure Karolina Kurkova, one of the fiestier Victoria’s Angels, will step up to Naomi if need be.
One thing’s for sure: after dealing with three supermodels for weeks on end, whoever wins will deserve a holiday as well as a campaign.

Oliver Peoples was THE sunglasses brand of the 90s, and now they’ve decided to return to their roots.
They’ve launched a revival of their 1987 designs, and Rescu. is excited to get in on the action.
Peoples has recently reinvented itself as the chic eyewear for fashion-forward people who eschew the gaudiness of big labels – their eccentric campaigns featuring Shirley Manson and Elijah Wood made a big splash. However, their glory days were in the 90s.
The biggest seller? The M4, which was the Oliver Peoples pair to own – it showed up on celebrities everywhere, particularly action heroes like Bruce Willis.
The new releases are all on vintage lines, and hand-crafted in Japan. Fashion is having a 90s moment – but all of the chic, none of the tragic. Think cute sunglasses and slip dresses with boots, not terrible turtlenecks and pointed slingbacks.
The M-4 comes as both sunglasses and actual prescription lenses, in case you want to be all 90s, all the time.
Will you be getting in on the Oliver Peoples action?

Australia so rarely gets a chance to see the best of the vintage exhibitions in the world.
However, people willing to make the trip to Brisbane’s Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) will be in for a treat.
They’re putting their first-rate collection of vintage baubles and costumes on display through 2013, and by all accounts the results are spectacular.
You’ll have to go to New York or Paris to see the big guns for vintage costumes, and many of them (like Audrey Hepburn’s outfits or Marilyn Monroe’s) are owned by private collectors.
However, the QPAC has collected a bunch of heavy hitters, including the resplendent gown from 1970s classic Doctor Dolittle.
The exhibition, ‘All Dressed Up: From Broadway To Hollywood’, which ends in April 2013, also features stage costumes from the likes of Bette Midler, Carol Channing, Ethel Merman, Judy Garland and Liza Minelli – so die-hard fans of musicals will be given their hearts’ desire.
It was all put together by Nicholas Inglis, an actor with a fashion for vintage and costume fashion. And menswear isn’t neglected – pieces from Sammy Davis Jnr, Eddie Murphy and Robin Williams also feature.
Best of all, the exhibition – held in the Tony Gould hall of the QPAC – is completely free. We anticipate fashionistas using it as a Christmas treat.
Will you be venturing into the QPAC for a taste of Hollywood history?

Party season and you’re all dressed up – but you need a place to put your lip gloss, baubles, keys and credit card.
Fear not – Rescu. has the pick of the best clutches of the season, and regardless of your style there will be something for you.
Want a classic with an Italian twist? We’re loving Bottega Veneta’s plaited-ribbon versions of the classic clutch. The bodies are covered in knotted, intertwined fabric and the clasp itself is a knot. It comes in several luxe colours and will match every outfit.
A film buff? Olympia Le Tan’s clutches are flying off the shelves at Net-a-Porter, with their references to old movie classics like La Dolce Vita. Pair with a slinky black dress and go full bombshell.
This is the season for sparkles, so opt for Jimmy Choo’s all-over version in red, white and blue, in rectangular jewels, or find a cheaper version at KM by Karen Millen. Look for pale colours that will catch the light.
The big fashion story for clutches this season is studs. Topshop’s your best location for that – hard or soft suede, reds or blacks, they’ve got the studded punk-meets-chic clutch to meet your needs. Pop into their Sydney flagship store for more choices.
Want to go all Great Gatsby? Find an Art Deco clutch to die for. We’re loving the range over at ASOS – look for detailing in leather, big colours and matt finish.
If you’re into sculptural gloss, go for Zara – their small box clutches look like gigantic, rough-cut gems in current shades of gold and silver.
And if you’re keen to try the latest trend for oversize, sloppy clutches, we’re liking Oroton’s range of A4-sized beauties, in both patent and unpolished leathers. They come in pinks, blacks and (our pick) a lovely orange-red to splash up any outfit. Plus there’s always room for a book, a Christmas present, a small bottle of bubbly – what a fantastic trend.
