Hollywood’s Biggest Halloween Successes
The undisputed queen of Halloween every year for the past five has been supermodel Heidi Klum.
Klum doesn’t let her beauty get in the way of a good costume, and this year was no exception whatsoever.
Klum turned up to her Halloween party in Vegas as an anatomic model, with flesh stripped off to reveal ‘muscles’ and ‘bones’ – actually a very beautifully painted full-body suit – beneath.
She even had her teeth aged and a skull cap made to match the eerie look.
Elsewhere in Hollywood people were more traditional, with ‘sexy’ or fairytale costumes- Miranda Kerr went as a sexy band leader, Gwen Stefani as a very over-the-top Cinderella, and Rose McGowan as a baroque pirate complete with moustache.
However, the one costume that definitely got Rescu. laughing was Joan Rivers’.
Her persona? Suri Cruise – complete with cut-outs of Katie and Tom Cruise, mini-heels, a wig and a small sign saying ‘Help Me’.
Politically correct? No – but Rivers never is.
Whom do you think had the best look this year – after Heidi, of course?

The New Wedding Dress: Black
Vera Wang might be turning away from her classic cream confections, after her most famous recent client Kim Kardashian (whose wedding, including Vera Wang gowns, cost up to $18 million) filed for divorce this week.
The next big trend? Black.
Brides with a less traditional bent are already a big part of the community, but with the recession still hitting the world hard, brides are beginning to turn away from expensive custom-made gowns to off-the-rack or coloured gowns, which might cost a bit less.
Wang herself sent a range of black dresses down the runway at her recent show, which surprised bridal industry observers – the big money is usually in white, traditional looks.
The meringue just may not be affordable any more, however, and it’s becoming more and more important for modern brides to stand out without costing a fortune. White is still the most popular colour, and thus requires the biggest spend.
It also references an outdated tradition of virginity which most brides simply don’t observe any more.
Black is becoming popular alongside eggshell-blue, light tints, peach, blush pink and very subtle pastels – although apparently winter weddings see a big surge in medieval-style red and purple gowns, to fit the occasion.
Maybe Kardashian would have had a longer marriage with a more up-to-date gown?
Would you be married in a non-white dress, or do you think it’s a tradition that’s here to stay?

Dita Von Teese Opens Muse Line In Australia
Rescu. warned you it was coming, and now it’s finally here.
Dita Von Teese has officially opened sales of her personally-designed Muse line of clothing in Australia.
Not only that, but the American entertainer and burlesque performer gave us all the favour of wearing not one but two of the designs to recent events.
One, a floral-pattern dress, she wore to the actual launch, and the other red number was paired with a Philip Treacy hat (of course) for a Derby Day celebration in Melbourne.
The dress line is a major coup for David Jones, and a boost to vintage styles which have been in fashion this year.
Incidentally, Von Teese’s own Halloween costume? ‘Normal’.
Every year the famed pale corset queen fake-tans, puts on a blonde wig and jeans, and pretends to be a hot-mess Hollywood starlet for the night – and it’s truly scary.
Will you be buying Von Teese’s 1940s-50s inspired line?

Shane Warne, New Male Style Icon?
He’s come a long way from his cigarette-smoking, pie-eating cricket days.
Shane Warne is now engaged to the endlessly glamourous Elizabeth Hurley, and has been dropping weight and raising his wardrobe stakes considerably.
He’s been seen in everything from designer suits to expensive golfing wear, raising the question – is Warnie the next big fashion thing?
The metrosexual look is a far cry from his previous lurid antics with Playboy underpants and hidden cameras, but the metrosexual trend is seeing a new hero in his sharply tailored dress sense and his sudden attention to his diet.
However, there have also been criticisms of his spray tan and accusations of plastic surgery.
Fashion-conscious men are celebrating Shane’s obvious attempts to be fit, healthy and attractive for his new fiancee, and his obvious makeovers to his wardrobe – and noting that if he wants a few nips and tucks, it’s entirely his business.
Case in point: his recent Dunhill tuxedo, which he wore to Elton John’s White Tie & Tiara ball with Hurley on his arm. The fit was classic, the tailoring perfect, and the look chic – a turnaround nobody could have predicted.
Do you think Warne should be a late-in-life style icon?
