This week in fashion news, we look at the hottest new trend in celebrity fashion, Diane Von Furstenberg’s new collection and more.
The trend to embrace: ladylike bows
Fashion trends amongst celebrities often come and go very quickly, but when a timeless classic pops back into style, one shouldn’t complain! Lately, feminine bows adorned on dresses, tops and worked onto the red carpet have been the hottest trend for style driven celebs.
Michelle Williams recently wore a simple yet modern dress by Azzaro, which worked the bow into a contemporary waisted belt. Topped off with a sparkle encrusted top and soft white skirt line, Williams proves that ladylike never gets old.
Whilst the jumpsuit is not a style for everyone, the latest chic black jumpsuit by designer Janey Lopaty and worn by Jessica Stroup, worked a contemporary cut with a gorgeous oversized black bow. The puff shoulder and skinny cigarette cut of the pant allowed this jumpsuit to stay ultra sleek.
Reese Witherspoon has always been one actress who maintains her ladylike glamour. So we weren’t surprised to find her wearing a stunning Zac Posen black strapless dress with a beautiful red bow design that seemed almost hand painted on the front.
It’s nice to see a touch of old world glamour come back into style, and the simple bow is the easiest way to execute an ultra femme look in seconds!
Fashionable kids hang out at Gucci
Gucci have just launched their kids line to some ultra stylish little kids, and to celebrate the label held a stunning event at their Fifth avenue store in New York. Tiny tackers attended alongside their style driven parents to celebrate the new line and, well, play. The kids enjoyed face painting, colouring in Gucci custom sheets whilst having a go at the new Gucci ipad app called Playground.
Jennifer Lopez features with her adorable twins in the campaign ads for the collection, and we are guessing it is set to be huge amongst the fashion elite.
Diane Von Furstenberg – pre fall 2011
The latest collection from Diane von Furstenberg for Pre-Fall 2011 has an air of 70’s inspiration to it. Bright bold block colours dominate cuts and silhouettes that are refined and quite traditional, yet also seem infused with a modern day manner.
The colour palette- largely focused on burnt oranges, reds, and maroon is strikingly bold yet has a sense of nostalgia to the 70’s, where dizzying prints and warmer tones tended to dominate the fashion circle.
DVF has worked with refined knee length skirts, wrap tops, and the classic wrap dress. Maroon turtle necks are teamed with geometric printed dresses, whilst other bold organic prints in blues, browns and yellows stand out. Other pieces feature vibrant aqua and avocado greens, yet the 70’s inspiration runs strongly throughout the entire collection- are the 70’s coming back into style? Watch out for those flare pants!
