This week in fashion news, we look at the launch of Google’s latest fashion venture, Jennifer Lopez’ new deal and more…
Jennifer Lopez makes a major deal with the fashion world
It’s always exciting and a little bit risky when celebrities dabble in fashion, but we are expecting great things from the latest collaboration between Jennifer Lopez and Kohls. Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony are currently in L.A announcing the new deal with Kohls, which is tipped to generate up to $3 billion in sales.
It’s been revealed so far that the collaboration will include both men’s and women’s apparel, as well as home and lifestyle products. Kohl’s in the past have worked with many popular names including Vera Wang and LC Lauren Conrad. The singer turned fashion entrepreneur has also been busy this year with her new fragrance Love and Glamour.
Google launch new fashion website
We all know Google are the leaders in well, just about everything. And now they are branching into the fashion industry with the launch of their brand new e-commerce platform Boutiques.com
The site takes an interesting approach to online shopping- mixing and aligning with some of the world’s best brands and hottest celebrities. It is certainly one of the most interactive e-commerce sites we have seen with a whole host of new functions that will have fashion lovers coming back for more.
You have the option to explore different ‘Boutiques’ which, more or less, are used to track celebrity style. Each boutique leads you to a celebrities page which highlights their favourite fashion finds, prices and locations. This is the ultimate tool for celebrity obsessed women (which is many of us!)
If you’re not browsing a celebrity boutique, you can start your own, which is your personal library of the hottest fashion finds. And if all that won’t keep you busy enough, you can venture into the shopping area with a huge range of labels to choose from. Judging by the staggeringly successful launch of the website, Google are proving they can also dabble in the fashion side of things very capably. Some of the celebrities and style influencers to already be involved with the huge project include blogger Bryan Boy, Kelly Osbourne, Carey Mulligan and Nicole Ritchie.
