Well, it’s certainly been a busy week in the fashion circuit! Many new collections have dropped that have been added to our wishlists, and the Golden Globe Awards saw sizzling red carpet style!
Golden Globe Awards bring style to the red carpet
The talk in the fashion world this week has been the Annual Golden Globes Awards, and we were definitely impressed with the line up of stylish celebrities wearing beautiful designs and classic suits!
High end label Burberry dressed a number of A-listers including Leighton Meester, Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Seacrest. Some actresses like Leighton Meester and Scarlett Johansson opted for a full sleeve or capped sleeve, floor length gown, moving away from heavily embellished dresses into a more neutral classic look.
Others choose to adorn themselves in a number of ways, from crystals to sequins and frills. Anne Hathaway and Angelina Jolie both wore sequined covered dresses and rising star Olivia Wilde wore a heavily layered ‘princess’ style dress covered in shining crystals.
Whilst the competition was hot, those who chose a more classic look seemed more fitted for the event. Our favourites included Eva Longoria who wore a striking black Zac Posen dress that was timeless and ultra feminine and Mila Kunis who wore a show stopping emerald green down by Vera Wang.
Brave by Wayne Cooper makes a remarkable return
Wayne Cooper’s AW 2011 Collection titled Brave by Wayne Cooper, has taken an unexpected turn, featuring daring new cuts and silhouettes for the fashion conscious party girl. The first launch of Brave by Wayne Cooper came about back in 1991 and it’s evolution has introduced classic styles with a modern twist.
Imagine a wearable colour palette of khaki, black and grey in a mix of cuts- from skinny leg to floating party dresses. We want it all and it’s just hit stores!
Burberry mix technology with fashion in new campaign
Burberry are undoubtedly at the forefront of fashion and technology, and they have once again proved their strength in this field with the launch of their spring summer 2011 ad campaign. The campaign features new British cast members each month. The first phase was shot by renowned photographer Mario Testino and featured models Cara Delevingne and Jacob Young.
On top of this, Burberry live streamed their menswear AW11 collection at Milan last week, allowing users to hop online and watch from the comfort of their home! What will Burberry come up with next? Watch this space.
Roxy’s new collection Beyond the Surface
Roxy is well known as a surf brand, but the popular label has recently taken a new approach to designing- opting for a more fashion based look which still holds onto their traditional surf style.
We were blown away when we saw their new look book for their current collection Beyond the Surface. Having just hit stores, Beyond the Surface features a pastel based mix of swimwear and street wear that could literally take you from the beach and out into the night.
The vibrant prints were inspired by reef fish skins and the colours work perfectly together. From mini skirts to one piece swimmers, this new collection has got the stylish surf girl covered!
