Fans go crazy for Kate Moss’ last TopShop collection
Kate Moss has unveiled her highly anticipated new collection for TopShop this week, and boy, did the shoppers go wild! Whilst the collection is brand new, it is also sadly Moss’ final collection for the retail giant.
The launch was held at the brand’s Oxford Circus flagship in London, where hoards of screaming fans were diving for a shot of the famous model come designer.
Sir Phillip Green, the owner of TopShop, explained of the brand’s great relationship with Moss that although this was her last official collection, “I’m not going anywhere and neither is she…But we now need to go away for a while, and think about how to do things differently. This collection takes a lot of hard work — she wants to do other things and so do I — but our relationship is as strong as ever.”
The new collection includes 109 designs, featuring some of her past bestsellers amongst brand new entries, such as sequined jackets, fur trimmed dresses and lots of floral prints!
Hell breaks loose between Alexander McQueen and Hells Angels
It’s been hell over the last few weeks for Alexander McQueen, with the label being sued by the members only biker club Hells Angels.
The trouble first began when Hells Angels’ attorney Fritz Clapp filed against Alexander McQueen, Saks 5th Avenue and Zappos.com for the sale of Alexander McQueen designs that featured a winged skull logo and the Hells Angels’ trademarked name. The designs were in the form of rings, clutches, a jacquard dress and pashmina.
Although the three companies have now removed the stock from online and in store, the Hells Angels have also demanded financial damages based on the profits made from the sale of the merchandise. Whilst this is still being considered, Clapp made it clear that Hells Angels are an exclusive members only club when he stated, “they consider themselves members, not someone who bought a $495 ring.”
A new online retailer hits Australia
Psst- listen up online shoppers, because there is a brand new website about to launch, which just quietly, is presenting some pretty tough competition for the other e-commerce sellers out there!
Ausmode.com are on their way to becoming your number one stop for high end Australian designers. They are set to stock the following labels: Fernando Frissoni, Ellery, Kirrily Johnston, Ksubi, Sass & Bide, Camilla & Marc and more! What sets Ausmode apart from your typical online seller though is they will be bringing members all access info on the Aussie fashion scene too, so you can keep up to date and shop, at the same time. The site launches Fall 2010 but for now you can sign up, and when you do you will receive a sneaky $25 discount!
