The silly season is just around the corner and what a great time to have fun with your makeup. Think summer drinks, Christmas parties and New Years Eve – It will come by sooner than you think!
Because of this fun season ahead, let’s explore the ultimate in makeup playtime – palettes! Whether you like to keep it simple, or have multiple choices with makeup, there is always a palette just for you and in today’s time poor world, some are the 2 in 1 you could be looking for – who doesn’t love a one stop shop?
Here are some great new palettes, just in time for the festive season…

Tom Ford Eye and Cheek Shadow in Peach Ombre
Starting off with something simple, this convenient clutch sized compact can act as a dual purpose, cheek and eye highlight and shade.
Because of the ombre effect moving from a deeper tone to light, you can pop and highlight the eye as well as the cheek area – so easy to use and all in one small compact. The peach shade shown is perfect for that warm summer glow, but there are two more shades (Pink Ombre and Plum Ombre) available so every skin tone can benefit. Love a multi-tasker and especially one so chic.

Guerlain Palete Ors Et Merveilles
The great thing about this time of year is the amazing offering in sets, compacts and palettes and so many of them will become handbag favourites being so multi-purpose.
This chic, two level, palette contains 5 warm summer eye shades on top, taking you from day to night with highlight and shade tones and then 4 varied blush shades on the bottom, a great mix of shimmer and matte so you can wear them together or alone – You can even a pop of blush on the mobile eyelid for a real summer pop!
This really is the ultimate luxury beauty on-the-go palette for the festive season.

Bobbi Brown Sterling Nights Eye Palette
Now personally, I love a good palette! I am a makeup artist after all and Bobbi Brown never disappoint.
I love how they always have a good, very useable set of neutrals (so on-trend) and with a good mix of matte vs. metallic.
Its all about contouring at the moment and that includes that of the eyes… Use the matte neutral shade to map out, stencil and sculpt the eye as a base, then layer metallic shades over the top to deepen… The black is great as a shadow liner and then the lighter metallic as highlight pops – just beautiful and vey wearable for day and night.

Shiseido Festive Camellia Palette
Nude tone eyes are dominating at the moment, but what if you want a little colour? Your eyes may be brown, your skin may be olive and therefore pops of colour can contrast for a ‘wow’ makeup look.
Summer is also a fun time to explore colour and incorporate into your fashion look… Shiseido has teamed up with Japanese fashion label Y’s designer, Yohji Yamamoto and is celebrating the Camellia flower – Holiday Beauty in Full Bloom.
A silk fabric camellia covered palette housing 6 shades, all representing the flower itself and can be worn in multiple ways to brighten brown eyes, smoke up blue/green eyes, as well as an easy transition from day to night – I have even used the far left shades as face highlighters!
RRP $70 (On-Counter November 29th 2015)

M.A.C Enchanted Eve Mauve Eye Palette
We love a bronze eye in summer, its easy, compliments our newly glowing skin, but it’s also fun to change it up and go with something different… When you have such bronze skin, its nice to either totally contrast your lip or eye area – this pull focus and makes bronze skin stand out even more.
I love the M.A.C enchanted eve palettes and this mauve one can be a great break up from your neutral/bronze eyes. When working with pastels, it is best to start with the darker shade first and then working lighter shades layered over the top to create new dimension. Have fun and play it up and using the deepest shade, as a liner with a full lash will always turn heads.

Lancôme L’Absolu Palette
If this palette doesn’t scream festive, then I don’t know what would??
Lancôme celebrates 80 years of beauty this year and they have created a stunning, dual-purpose palette for the holiday season…
The Maison Lancôme doors are open, taking you to a warm and bronzed world for eyes – great to layer or wear alone as metallic washes across the mobile eyelid – and then lift the gold door and you have 3 lip products, including the perfect xmas red, to go from day to night. Stunning textures and French luxury at its best, the perfect companion through this year’s festive season.
