We’re only four episodes in to the third season of The Bachelor Australia, but that doesn’t mean we’re short of any scandals. Here’s what we’ve learnt so far since the series kicked off in late July.
1. Bec and Sam are already well aquainted
It’s been revealed that Bachelor Sam Wood and contestant Bec Chin have a romantic history. A friend of the Bachelorette divulged that the twenty-eight year old dietitian ‘hooked up’ with the thirty-five year old bachelor on a trip to Bali last year.
‘Sam was settling his bill and was heading back to his villa in Seminyak, he asked Bec to come to the inside part of the club with him and then he kissed her,’ the source claimed.
However, despite claiming that he remembers Bec, Sam claims that their history is a lot less exciting.
‘Bec and I crossed paths in Bali last year as I was leaving a restaurant and we had a three minute conversation… I didn’t recognise her once on the show.’
So what does this mean for the two on the show? Despite taking Bec on a one-on-one date in a helicopter ride in an upcoming episode, it seems so far that Sam’s sights are firmly planted on Bachelor favourites, Snezana and Heather.
2. A pregnant Bachelorette?
Is there a chance Bachie Sam will end up with more than just a Bachelorette? It’s been revealed by Famous magazine that a ‘high-profile contestant’ revealed to the show’s producers that she was pregnant, just weeks before filming begun.
‘She caught up with an ex-boyfriend a few weeks before filming started, and was worried she’d fallen pregnant,’ a source told the magazine. ‘She wouldn’t stop crying and apologising,’
Whilst none of the ladies have revealed who this might be, rumours have surfaced that it could have come from one of Sam’s clear favourites, thirty-four year old Snezana. The Perth mother of one, who has a ten-year-old daughter from a previous marriage, has already revealed to Sam that she would like her family to grow, firmly stating the importance of finding a ‘family man’.
3. Heather and Sam have shared their heartbreaking pasts
After being the first contestant to receive a white rose in this season’s Bachelor, Sam and Heather hit it off in the cutest way possible on a super-hero-themed date organised by the much loved Bachelorette. But after the jelly wrestling was over and the lycra came off, the Bach Man and H-Bomb got serious. As they cooked together, the couple opened up to reveal emotional details about their family pasts. Heather revealed that she grew up not knowing her father, who she didn’t track down until she was eighteen. Heather confessed to Sam, ‘I feel really comfortable talking to you, it normally takes me a lot longer to open up.’
Sam also spoke of his mother’s death, something he revealed he rarely speaks freely about. He revealed that her death was a particularly difficult time for him and his siblings, with his uncle dying of liver failure the next day. Today, he remembers his mother with adoration. ‘I want mum to be proud of me with everything I do,’ he said.
The couple locked lips as Sam presented Heather with a red rose.
4. Heather and Sam aren’t married
Despite rumours, and a skilled graphic designer, Heather and Sam are definitely not married. After photos of the couple surfaced with Heather wearing a white strapless wedding dress, it didn’t take long for the internet to prove this was a hoax. The image was taken from a photo on Heather’s Facebook page, posted as part of a promotional bridal shoot for The Kirribilli Club in Sydney, in 2013.
5. Sam has found ‘the one’
Despite this, Sam has revealed that he has found ‘the one’ since filming The Bachelor. When asked by Who magazine, Sam replied, ‘Yeah, possibly, I am confident.’ We can’t wait to find out who.
The Bachelor airs at 7.30pm Wednesday and Thursdays nights on Channel 10.
