Uma Thurman’s Campari Calendar
The 2014 Campari Calendar starring Uma Thurman was released yesterday, and we’ve got to say, we would be pretty happy to have these gorgeous images hanging on our wall for a whole year!
Titled ‘Worldwide Celebrations,’ the calendar -Campari’s 15th- reflects Uma participating in a series of festivals from around the world.
In the calendar, Uma jetsets from the Spring Festival in China, to Hanami in Japan where people celebrate the blooming of the cherry blossoms.
Spanning every continent, the calendar features the Hollywood actress in a variety of designer gowns, from designers such as Stella McCartney, Versace and Chopard.
Of her appearance in the calendar, Uma says, “I feel confident that people around the world will enjoy the worldwide celebration which the Campari Calendar provides.”
The calendar was shot by fashion photographer Koto Bolofo, who was born in South Africa, raised in the UK and now resides in France — the perfect choice to evoke the large-scale worldwide celebration that is the Campari Calendar.
Unfortunately for us, only 9,999 copies of the calendar are printed, and the only way to get your hands on one is by being a ‘friend of Campari.’
We think it’s time to start schmoozing for our calendar in time for the New Year!
Jennifer Lawrence Hits Out at the Sexualisation of Women in Hollywood
We always knew Jennifer Lawrence was a smart cookie — and she’s proved that point once again, condemning the sexualisation of women in Hollywood.
In an interview with the BBC while promoting the latest Hunger Games film, Catching Fire, Jennifer was asked what she thinks of Miley Cyrus’s recent shenanigans.
As is her wont, Jennifer was typically diplomatic in her response, telling the reporter, “it is a part of the entertainment industry that sells.”
“Sex sells, and for some disgusting reason young sex sells even more,” she continued.
She discreetly criticised the young women in the entertainment industry that flaunt their sexuality, saying “”everybody’s got their own path and they have their own way of finding themselves and for some people that’s how they feel best, that’s how they feel sexy, that’s how they want to perform.”
On Miley’s behaviour twerking with a dwarf, Jennifer merely said, “each to their own.”
Jennifer went on to explain that she likes to use the Hunger Games franchise to send a positive message to young women about their bodies.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to rid ourselves of that in this industry. And also I think it’s better to look strong and healthy and I feel like Kate Moss running at you with a bow and arrow wouldn’t really be scary.”
Funny, smart and down to earth, we think Jennifer is a fantastic role model for young women.
Cerrone Collection Launch: ‘A Moment in Time’
Last night luxury jewellery house Cerrone hosted a divine launch to celebrate their latest collection: ‘A Moment in Time.’
A prestigious range of guests joined the Cerrone family for the soiree, including actress Emma Lung, television personality Sandra Sully, fashion designer Carla Zampatti, media star Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Vogue editor Edwina McCann and our very own Michael Brown.
The event was held at the world-class Est. Restaurant, with a bespoke menu cocktail menu, inspired by the latest Cerrone collection, and featuring some of the world’s finest diamonds.
Some lucky attendees- Maddy King, Terry Biviano, Janice Peterson and Sara Huegill- were dripping in more than one million dollars of Cerrone jewels at the event.
Guests were also treated to a choreographed theatre piece encapsulating ‘A Moment in Time’ performed by Australian actors Peter Mochrie, Ryan Johnson and Andrea Demetriades all dressed in Giorgio Armani.
