The who’s who of Australian celebs flocked to LA’s Hollywood and Highland Center last Saturday to honour fellow Aussies who are making a splash in the US.
Famous faces included Great White Shark Greg Norman, who admitted to reporters that he is ‘looking for love’, as well as Jennifer Hawkins (pictured), Avatar star Sam Worthington, Simon Baker, Olivia Newton John, True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten, honorary Aussie John Travolta and Toni Collette.
Although skipping the red carpet formalities, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban revisited the event where they both met in 2005, and even treated the audience to an impromptu duet.
The pair broke out in song to the tune of Men at Work’s Land Down Under while honouring fellow Aussie Simon Baker. As Urban played his guitar, Kidman danced around him singing “His name is Simon Baker, surfer dude, home renovator, he was bound to be a Hollywood player.”
Baker was impressed. “Wow,” he said, “That song is something. That was a bit of a treat.”
You’ve gotta love that Aussie sense of humour!
