Gemma Ward is back! And we couldn’t be happier for our talented Australian model. Gemma suffered greatly last year from nasty press revolving her weight, with claims her modelling career was over forever.
Whilst she hasn’t been getting ready for her next runway show, Gemma is heading back into the spotlight with a new acting role- in Pirates of the Caribbean 4!
A friend of Gemma’s stated “Gemma’s focus is definitely on acting. She’s spent the past year studying the craft full time in New York.”
Gemma will star alongside Johnny Depp, Megan Fox, Penelope Cruz and Geoffrey Rush in the upcoming blockbuster. There is speculation that Gemma will return to modelling in her own time, but we love this new turn for the beautiful Perth born star.
Gemma has been involved in the movie business before, with a previous acting role in 2008. The critically acclaimed Australian film The Black Balloon, saw Gemma star in a main role with upcoming actor Rhys Wakefield and the famous Toni Collette. Gemma then turned to the world of horror, starring as a masked murdered in The Strangers, starring Liv Tyler.
