Hollywood’s favourite bachelor George Clooney has confirmed he’ll marry fiancée, human-rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin in Venice, with rumours hinting that the couple will exchange vows at the Belmond Hotel Cipriani.

The silver fox let a few details slip at a charity event they attended together where he received a humanitarian award. The couple were at the black-tie gala in support of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
He said during his acceptance speech at the Celebrity Fight Night in Tuscany, “I met my lovely bride-to-be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying, in a couple of weeks, in Venice, of all places.”
When he took to the stage, Clooney turned to his fiancee and said, “I would just like to say to my bride-to-be, Amal, that I love you very much, and I can’t wait to be your husband.”
Sources say the couple are set to exchange their vows on September 27 at the famous and celebrity-favourite hotel on picturesque Giudecca Island.

The notoriously pricey venue launched by Giuseppe Cipriani in 1958, has a long tradition among Hollywood A-listers and comes complete with two 15th century palaces, a lavish garden, plus views overlooking the Venetian Lagoon, the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Square. Al Pacino recently stayed there during the Venice Film Festival and the hotel has also seen the likes of supermodel Cindy Crawford and actor Brad Pitt, who is rumoured to be the best man an the wedding.
Clooney looks set to exchange his vows just meters from the gardens where the legendary Casanova wooed his lovers.
The New York Post reported in June that Clooney, 53, and Alamuddin, 36, were looking at Venice as a wedding location despite reports it would be at his Lake Como estate. Rumours have also suggested a London wedding before heading off to Venice.
Clooney’s spokesman declined to comment on the couple’s plans.
Amal is a certified star in her own field with the human-rights lawyer having advised Kofi Annan on Syria and with client list with that includes Wikileaks founder Julian Assange and Ukraine’s former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
“She is a fabulously bright woman, she’s independent, and has a Rolls-Royce mind,” her colleague Mark Stephens told the UK’s Evening Standard newspaper.
Guests set to attend one of the Hollywood weddings of the year include Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon and Jennifer Aniston.
