One in nine Australian women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer by the age of 85 with over 2600 dying from the disease in a single year. Looking at these statistics one can’t help but think of all the women in their lives; mums, sisters, friends and wives who could be affected.
The key to tackling this horrible disease is research. Already scientific advancements have meant survival rates are on the rise and with increased funding for research breast cancer could one day be a thing of the past.
October is Breast Cancer Month and, along with purchasing pink ribbon merchandise, there are plenty of ways you can get involved and help raise funds for The National Breast Cancer Foundation.
