“As the name suggests, the Ellery show, ‘Horreur-Scope”, is a dark and heady collection inspired by the zodiac. The girl is brazen and wild and the hair and make-up reflect that”, says Sophie Roberts from ghd.
Hair inspiration: Sophie says, “The texture is gelled and dishevelled and dried tightly over the head with strands of hair strewn over the face like she has walked through a cob web. The hair is banded into a ponytail at the nape and then cut out just before the recalcitrant girls stride down the runway!”
Ellery’s Fashion inspiration:
“My inspiration for this collection was the ‘horreur’ of the zodiac – the stars are fighting, the zodiac is at war.”
“The concept for the hair evolved from looking at the idea of the elements of the zodiac and playing water, air and earth to get a matte wet look.
Sophie and our fashion stylist Trevor (our fashion stylist) and I wanted the hair to look really edgy, yet beautiful at the same time. I want the girls to look like they have thrown it together themselves so it is bold and frames their faces.”
How to get the look:
1. Drench roots and mid lengths of hair in ghd Texture Lotion.
2. Work hair until it sits flat to the head, but with a dishevelled texture, coming from a side direction, and over the forehead with random strands falling over the face.
3. Band hair in a tight ponytail at the nape.
4. Cover head in a setting scarf and diffuse product until dry and forming a helmet like surface.
5. Using a ghd Stylers, flat iron the ends of the ponytail with ghd Fixation Spray for a starched, static finish.
6. Finish with ghd Reflection Spray.
7. Cut out band leaving an indentation, or ‘idea’ of a ponytail.
