Gluten Free Breakfast ‘On The Go’ Options

Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Pinterest

We’ve heard it all before, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, yet many people commute to the office on just a cup of coffee. For those of us who are avoiding gluten, grabbing something on the go can be a challenge. The reason? Many quick brekkie options contain gluten. Fancy grabbing a croissant or bagel to go? What about a cheese and tomato toastie or blueberry muffin with the skim flat mocha? It can be difficult to give up your favourite morning meals like Vegemite on toast and Weet-Bix drizzled in honey.

According to Sanitarium, “Approximately 1 in 70 Aussies have Coeliac disease and many others are eliminating or limiting gluten in their diet.”

When you don’t have time for a sit down breakfast and you are needing to avoid gluten, Gluten Free Up&Go is the ideal option for on the run.. “We’ve developed Gluten Free Up&Go to provide a convenient, great-tasting, gluten-free liquid breakfast choice.” said Jaemes Tipple, Up&Go Brand Manager – Sanitarium Health & Wellbeing.

Weet-Bix lovers rejoiced when Sanitarium brought out a gluten-free version of the breakfast cereal that was as flakey and tasty as the original. Now Up&Go will make “on the go” a breeze again. No more having to rush for the train with green concoctions running down your shirt to get your essential morning nutrients.

Gluten Free Up&Go is an excellent choice to help start the day right when you are on the run,” confirms Michelle Reid, Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist at Sanitarium. New Gluten Free Up&Go has a 4.5 Health Star Rating due to its protein content and being low in saturated fat and sodium, under the new Government-led initiative which rates foods from ½ star to 5 stars, based on their nutritional credentials.

“Meeting your nutritional requirements for the day is very important, and those who require a gluten-free diet are no exception. Gluten Free Up&Go contains protein and fibre, and 10 essential vitamins and minerals. With 50% of the recommend dietary intake for calcium – essential for strong bones and teeth and, and being a good source of vitamins B1, B2 and B3 to help release the energy you need to kick-start your day, as part of a balanced diet.”

Sanitarium’s new Gluten Free Up&Go is available now and offers consumers looking to avoid or reduce their gluten intake a quick and easy breakfast option, while still containing the protein and energy of two Gluten Free Weet-Bix™ and milk*.
