Our Australia Day long weekend just got even better thanks to the news that everyone’s favourite pop music couple, Beyonce and Jay Z, will be performing together at the Grammy Awards 2014 ceremony and since music’s biggest night is airing in the US on January 26, the duo’s performance will be viewable here on the 27th, which just happens to be our public holiday.
The news was confirmed by CBS in a commercial that listed both stars in the list of performers and, although it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, a source revealed to Us Magazine that the couple will be taking the stage together. There’s no word yet on which tracks the pair will perform together but we’re thinking if its true that the pair are performing together surely their latest collaboration ‘Drunk In Love’ will be a shoe-in.
In addition to the ultimate power couple, Grammy-nominated stars Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will be performing at the ceremony set to take place in LA’s Staples Center along with Kendrick Lamar, Robin Thicke, Daft Punk, Paul McCartney, and New Zealand’s hottest export Lorde.
Despite all these huge names, the muttering that’s really got everyone in a tizzy is that Madonna will be providing guest vocals during one segment… here’s hoping that’s one Hollywood rumour that’s proved true!
Stay tuned for the all the news from the Grammy Awards on Monday and, in the meantime, check out the nominations in the main categories below and start placing your bets on the winners!
