It’s been two long years since Baz Luhrmann started filming The Great Gatsby in Sydney but finally last night the hotly-anticipated film made its Australian debut. As red carpet was rolled out on the wet floors of Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter, local A-listers, including celebs, and media, frocked up in their 1920s-best for a star-studded premiere where, just like in Cannes, an umbrella was the must-have accessory.
Leonardo DiCaprio, who plays Gatsby, was absent from the event but there was still a star-powered representation of the film with Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Elizabeth Debicki, and, of course, Baz Luhrmann in attendance.
Local stars included Delta Goodrem, Joel Madden (we are counting him as a local these days, right?), Ita Buttrose, Collette Dinnigan, Jesinta Campbell, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Stephanie Rice and more.

With her lavish Sydney hen’s night behind her, Jennifer Hawkins must be getting closer and closer to walking down the aisle but still the former Miss Universe and her fiancé Jake Wall are keeping mum on the details.
Despite that the pair have reportedly signed a $100,000 deal with a women’s magazine for the exclusive, media are stopping at nothing to find out details before the big day and the latest rumour is that the pair will wed in the US at the beginning of next month.
The model recently told Confidential, “Everyone keeps asking me, like in the street, ‘are you really stressed?’ but all I keep thinking is bringing all the family together and being with Jake on the honeymoon.”
From the sounds of things, Jen and Jake’s big day could be just weeks away – we can’t wait to see her dress!

Some time ago we heard that the ever-adorable Joseph Gordon-Levitt was set to made his directorial debut with a film called ‘Don Jon’s Addiction’ in which Levitt would also star as a porn addicted man in the midst of a new relationship with a hopelessly romantic woman.
After a name change (the film is now simply called ‘Don Jon’) and months of production, we have the first look at the flick and, given that the main character is a porn addict, it is surprisingly charming and endearing. Call it the Joseph Gordon-Levitt touch!
Scarlett Johansson stars alongside Levitt as Barbara, the woman Don Jon falls for, and the pair make quite the cute couple. Watch the trailer, complete with a personal message from Levitt about how important this film is to him, below.
