Expert Tip: Damien Carney, JOICO International Artistic Director, “Strands that are too soft and silky tend to slip out of pins, causing up-styles to come undone. JOICO’s Instant Refresh shampoo will give slick hair a touch of texture that makes it easier to style and secure up-dos.”
Soft Up Do
Step 1: Prep hair by washing and conditioning.
Step 2: Apply hair foam to damp strands to increase density and volume.
Step 3: Blow-dry hair in sections with the help of a large, round brush, producing maximum body.
Step 4: After blow drying each section immediately set in on a large velcro roller to add body and movement.
Step 5: Dry the entire head, securing each roller with a clip or pin. When hair cools, release the rollers and gently brush through.
Step 6: Create a middle or side parting at the front depending on which look you prefer.
Step 7: Gather the bottom section into a low ponytail and secure with a small, clear elastic.
Step 8: Grasp the center of the ponytail, twist and direct the tail upward, creating a loose bun.
Step 9: Secure the bun, covering the ponytail elastic.
Step 10: Mist with JOICO Power Spray to set the style.
Expert Tip: Damien Carney JOICO International Artistic Director, “It’s a great style for layered hair and it really suits toffee and caramel highlights as they provide plenty of depth and dimension
