Halloween is upon us and we’ve found perfect inspiration for fun and easy face painting ideas for kids. Tweens beauty brand Girl Lane shares their step by step guide to bringing your snapchat filters to life, creating a butterfly wing and an age appropriate Day of the Dead mask.
The Flower Crown
1. Start by sponging white at the top of the T-zone of the face. Use a sponge to add white glitter over the top of the white paint
2. With a brush draw yellow polka dots spaced evenly above the brow line
3. Paint on pink petals around each yellow polka dot
4. Highlight with top of the crown with white lines. Outline with a thin brush in black the petals and white at the top of the crown
5. If you make a mistake throughout your painting, use gentle cleansing wipes to remove and start again.
The Butterfly Wing
1. Start by painting with a brush blue around the right eye in the shape of a butterfly wing. Then go over the top with a purple to create a beautiful blend of the two colours.
2. Using white draw lines with a paintbrush to highlight the shape of the wine. Add white sparkle stars to the top and side of the butterfly wing for that princess look.
3. Outline the shape in black, adding in black wisps to the body of the wing. Also add in the body of the butterfly.
Halloween Rabbit
1. With a brush, start by drawing white above the upper lip and on the forehead to create a mouth and ears
2. Outline in black around the ears and lips. Also add in a black nose and detailing between the eyes
3. Smudge pink to the cheeks.
Day of the Dead
1. Start by outline the eyes in white with a brush and using a sponge to cover the face in white outside of the circles around the eyes
2. Using a brush colour the eyes in turquoise, draw in pink a love heart in the middle of the forehead and colour in the lips. Add some glitter to the turquoise and pink heart!
3. Outline the eyes in black to the nose and a spider web on the forehead
4. Finish the costume with a suitable Day of the Dead hat.
