Human trafficking is closer to home than you think. Together with illegal drugs and arms, it’s one of the top three largest criminal industries in the world.*
From the 26th of July, The Body Shop will be raising awareness of the horrors of human trafficking, which affects over 1.2 million children and young people each year. Here, we find out the facts about this widespread human rights atrocity and how you can help …
In its second year, The Body Shop’s Stop Sex Trafficking of Children and Young People is being run in conjunction with Child Wise, Australia’s leading international child protection charity working to prevent child abuse and exploitation in Australia, Asia and the Pacific.
The Body Shop and Child Wise believe that a key step towards stopping this modern-day slave trade is to raise public support, which, in turn, encourages governments to take action and effect change.
