The MoDown reports that the famous company is producing a limited range of saris for the Indian market, with the classic Hermes touch. And the results are just beautiful.
“This is part of our effort to connect to India’s culture and to the tradition of elegance of Indian women,” said the head of Hermes India, Bertrand Michaud.
Hermes has already developed jellabas for customers in the United Arab Emirates, and the new line is sure to be snatched up quickly by luxury-conscious Indian women around the globe.
But it’s limited edition – so get in quickly for your new exotic look for summer. (And is that Gemma Ward we spy modelling the range on the catwalk? It’s wonderful to see the Aussie model back on the catwalk.)

Paul McCartney’s New Wife Keeps It All In The Family
Sir Paul McCartney married for the third time on the weekend, and all eyes were on his new bride – who made a very important fashion statement.
Nancy Shevell wore a Stella McCartney gown for the ceremony – a beautiful suit with subtle detailing.
Though it won’t perhaps be as much-copied as the dresses of Kate Moss or Kate Middleton, the suit had one important quality – it was made for her by Stella herself, which is a unique privilege probably only available when you’re marrying the designer’s father.
It may have also been a calculated fashion-PR move. The new Mrs McCartney, who is an heiress from America, may be seeking to distance herself from her predecessor, Heather Mills, who famously did not get on with any of Paul’s children with his first wife.
And a custom-made gown designed by one of your new stepchildren is a pretty good sign that you have the seal of McCartney approval.

Kate Moss’s Daughter Prefers Her Make-Up Free
Kate Moss may have been the toast of Fashion Week (she asked to walk in Louis Vuitton, which staged a spectacular show on a merry-go-round, and Marc Jacobs, of course, obliged), but her daughter Lila Grace has other ideas.
Lila, who is 9, apparently dislikes her mother being made-up in anything more than a ponytail.
“She’ll say tut-tut,” Moss said to an interviewer. “She doesn’t like it. She likes the fresh-faced, natural mummy, when I’ve got my hair in a bun and no make-up on… She’s quite prudish”
Lila Grace was the chief bridesmaid at Moss’s recent marriage to Jamie Hince, and the newlyweds have a feature spread in an upcoming Vogue.
Apparently, the nine-year-old allows nail art.
“She went to a friend’s birthday party,” said Moss, “and came back with green leopard-print nails!”
Perhaps not quite so prudish then.

Dita Von Teese Produces Capsule Collection
She’s the darling of the fashion world for her 1950s, impeccable style – even while casual – and now Dita von Teese, burlesque queen, has ventured into clothing design herself.
Von Teese, who dresses almost entirely in vintage and custom couture, is designing a line called Muse for David Jones Australia.
That’s right – we get first pick!
She says the key to the collection is ‘retro-glamour’, and it will be available in sizes up to 20.
There are only five pieces – a tulle-layered trench coat, dresses with built-in corsetry, crepe de Chine and a rose print all feature – and they’re going to go very quickly, so get on your marks to fight for them…
And if you want an idea of the clothes on a person, Von Teese will be in Australia in person to wear one to the Derby Day in Melbourne.
