As reality TV fatigue starts to kick in this time of year, its nice to see the X-Factor contestants enjoying their five minutes of fame. We’re loving the obvious joy and in-the-zone moments that young talent are parading on national live television.
Singing regularly has been linked to an improved mood, higher self-esteem, stress relief and a greater sense of community belonging. The feel good vibes are right up our ally – here are some of our favourite inner rockstar moments from last nights highlights:

Getting your inner rockstar on can take some confidence. Many contestants on this year’s X-Factor Australia admitted to nerves and anxiety when they open up their vocal pipes in front of the live audience. Thirty-three year old, Natalie Conway was reduced to tears during the first few weeks of the show as she battled with fears that she wouldn’t be good enough.
But fear hasn’t deterred Natalie from giving show stopping performances every week. The professional vocalist wowed the judges during rock week with her version of Alone, by Heart.
Louise Adams also put aside sleep deprivation and impressed with her take on an Aerosmith classic, Dream On. The new mum only began singing a few years ago, and is living proof that a little courage is all it takes to step out and follow your dreams.
Are you ready to rock n roll? The performers show us how:
Big Hair. It goes without saying, the higher the hair, the higher the note. Tease with dry shampoo to add an extra crunch to your strands.

Leather Jacket. Nothing says cool like a leather jacket. Think Grease’s Sandy and Danny.

Groove with a guitar riff. You don’t have to play guitar to be a rock star, you just have to groove to the beat. Bonus points for flipping your hair back and forth during the chorus.

Let your heart out. Want to get the benefits of Rock’n’Roll catharsis? You’ll need to emotionally connect to the song, and sing it as your own.

Dance on a table or piano. It’s something every rocker needs to do at least once in their life.
