Yesterday was the day of Oprah’s highly anticipated final show tapings at Sydney’s Opera House.
Reports from the show were generally filled with positivity and overwhelming admiration of the talk-show host, Hugh Jackman made headlines suffering an injury from a stunt! The Australian actor was sliding down a zip line from the sails of the Opera House onto the stage when he crashed into a light stand and cut his face. Paramedics took him off the stage and a concerned Oprah paused the show until she was assured he was not majorly hurt.
Aside from this minor incident, the shows went off without a hitch. Guests included super celebs such as Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, Bindi Irwin and Jay-Z. Rapper Jay-Z made one Canterbury Boys School’s day with a visit and a laptop for each child in the class. Oprah also gave cancer sufferer Kristian Anderson and his wife a $250, 000 cheque in a gesture that is both extremely generous and typical of Oprah’s spirit. Each audience member received a specially designed piece of jewellery as a memento of the show.
Oprah wore a Collette Dinnigan custom made magenta silk blouse and silk taffeta full-length skirt for the show. It’s clear the inspirational woman is loving Australian designers, she was also spotted purchasing a pair of Samantha Willis Barbarella Earrings while in Hamilton Island!
Across the globe, it’s splitsville in Hollywood with two major celeb breakups shocking us all. Scarlett Johannson and Ryan Reynolds have officially called it quits, announcing in a joint statement, “After a long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love, and it’s with love and kindness we leave it.” The gorgeous pair were married in September of 2008 and have since been very private about their relationship but it was widely believed they were a perfect couple.
This unexpected split comes on the brink of news that High School Musical sweethearts Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have separated after five years of dating. Allegedly the young pair are still friends, stating growing up and growing apart as the reason for their split.
