Lipstick lover, new mum and brainchild of the wildly popular Interiors Addict, Jen Bishop, is excited to be providing her specialist styling advice to women across the country this October as she comes on board as an ambassador for Cancer Council’s Girls’ Night In.
Having lost her mum to cancer as a child Jen is passionate about showing her support to help beat the disease.
“Cancer research has come a really long way since my mum died in the early eighties and that is largely due to funding from charities like this one.
“As a mum myself now, I can’t stand the thought of my son losing any of his family to this disease.
“Girls’ Night In is a really easy way to get your girlfriends together, raise money and have fun for a good cause.”
An expert on interior design, homewares and creating a stylish home on any budget, Jen’s slogan is “style without the snobbery” and she is eager to share her tips and tricks on how to prepare any home for the perfect Girls’ Night In.
“When it comes to your Girls’ Night In there’s no need to overcomplicate it; no matter how big the space or what homewares you’re working with there are easy ways to prepare.
- Take cues from nature; think fresh flowers, greenery, timber and linen.
- Have fun with a dessert buffet; think bowels of bright lollies and jars of fresh fruit
- Decorate to a theme or colour; using ribbon, balloons, blooms and even your food
- Get your hands dirty; use a lick of spray-paint to make what was old new again
“I am lucky to have amazing, strong female friendships, and girlfriends who inspire me to be a better businesswoman, friend, wife and mother.

Every day in Australia, around 50 women are diagnosed with breast or a gynaecological cancer. Money raised from Cancer Council’s Girls’ Night In helps fund world-class research into women’s cancers, cancer prevention and advocacy programs, and support services to help those affected by women’s cancers at every part of their journey.
Girls’ Night In is part of Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon, which in 2015 aims to raise $7million nationally.
