The simple, elegant up-dos shown at Charlie Brown paid homage to the timeless elegance of the Valentino Fall/Winter 2010 collection and were representative of the lady-like trend we have seen so much of lately.Lorna Evans, Redken Hair Director, created the look describing it as “very classic, clean and simple, yet taps into the knotted trend we’re seeing a lot of at the moment”.
We love the clean, smooth finish, showing off a natural sheen rather than a high shine or wet-look appearance. The result was neat and silky smooth.
How to recreate the look:
1. For a naturally smooth result, apply Redken Satinwear 02 to towel dried hair.
Create a side part, using the arch of the eyebrow as a guide and blow dry smooth, directing the hair away from the face.
2. Separate the hair into three sections, at the back, and left and right of the part.
Work a small amount of Redken Align 12 through each of the three sections. This will help smooth out any fly-aways for a sleek finish.
Gradually work each section into a ponytail at the nape and secure with an elastic.
3. Twist the ponytail in one direction and let it coil around the base of the tie. Pin into place.
4. Finish with Redken Wax Blast 10, smoothing the surface of the hair as you go, for hold and a matte sheen finish.
