Joel Madden Drug Bust and Seal’s Twitter Rant
The Aussie media has been in a flurry since police allegedly found a small quantity of cannabis in Joel Madden’s hotel room at The Darling in Sydney.
Sources say a cleaner discovered the drug in The Voice judge’s room on Sunday afternoon and police were contacted but didn’t arrive until about 10.30pm.
As the 34-year-old’s room was searched, it was decided there would be no charges, Madden was asked to leave the hotel immediately and issued an official statement saying, “Sunday while I was at work, a hotel employee found a small amount of marijuana in my hotel room. The police were called and responded. Sydney is my adopted home and I appreciate the way the NSW police handled the situation. They have informed me there will be no charges. I hope this didn’t cause too much drama for everyone.”
This morning Seal has gone on a bit of a Twitter rant defending his co-star and friend saying that Madden had been visiting a cancer victim at the hotel before his room was searched. He tweeted, “homeless shelters, provide time and love for disabled kids, represent at the Logies and not to mention bring hope to aspiring artists… across the nation with his authenticity and heart. Yet having a joint in the privacy of his hotel room is worth of front page news??? cont.”
As the rant continued, Seal said he was slamming the ‘trash media’ and that he was, “done here.” The tweets have since been deleted and Seal has apologised, saying, “I want apologise for my rant earlier. Joel is one of my best friends and I was really hurting for him.”

Aussie Wins at Critics’ Choice Television Awards
The third annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton in LA yesterday.
There were plenty of big names frocked up for the red carpet including Diane Kruger in a black Nina Ricci dress with long-time beau Joshua Jackson on her arm, Emmy Rossum in a red Naeem Kham dress, Elisabeth Moss in RED Valentino, Abigail Breslin in J Brand and many more.
The Big Bang Theory proved the most popular show of the night, taking out Best Comedy Series, Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, and Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy. Breaking Bad was another big winner, tieing with Game of Thrones for Best Drama Series and taking home the Best Actor in a Drama Series award.
Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson Dating?
Aussie Elisabeth Moss, who has been the centre of attention lately, took home the Best Actress in a Movie of Mini-Series award – beating out Hollywood heavyweights Sigourney Weaver and Jessica Lange – for her role in Top of the Lake.

Ever since he split once and for all with long-time, on-off girlfriend Kristen Stewart, everyone has been trying to guess which starlet will be next on Robert Pattinson’s list and Katy Perry’s name has popped up time and time again.
This week the pair have been doing nothing to silence the rumours, instead making a very public appearance together at a Björk concert at the Hollywood Palladium in LA.
According to the Daily Mail, the two met up before the concert but left separately. Whether that was genuine or an attempt at covering up their next move, only time will tell…
