King Karl of all things luxe, recently took a trip to cheap & chic street to photograph and pose for French mail order catalogue giant 3 Suisses.
While the Chanel and Fendi designer didn’t lend a hand to design any of the wares for the catalogue, he did divulge that he was keen to repeat his foray into the mass-market realm, following his collaboration with high street chain H&M back in 2004.
“My dream is to turn the whole house of Lagerfeld into this kind of [mass] business, because I am at the peak of luxury with Chanel and Fendi,” he told WWD. Being at both ends of the market is the height of luxury,” he continued.
However don’t get too excited just yet ladies, Karl also went on to say he had not yet discussed his project with the new management team at Karl Lagerfeld HQ.
In true quirky Karl fashion, then went on to speak of his fascination for washing machines (after being photographed posing on one for the catalogue).
“It is so chic and pretty. I would like to have one — not to wash clothes but to put in my dressing room to hold my dirty laundry.” He said.
Oh how we adore you and your offbeat personality Mr Lagerfeld.
