Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in green for the annual St Patrick’s Day parade and ever the heart-throb, George Clooney was arrested in Washington DC protesting the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
Kate Middleton attended the annual St Patrick’s Day parade with Irish Guards in Aldershot, England.
Kate wore a belted green Emilia Wickstead dress to celebrate the day and accessorised her festive look with a gold clover brooch that belonged to the Queen Mother.
when the traditional parade ended, Kate handed three-leafed clovers to 40 officers and even their canine mascot, an Irish Wolfhound was a lucky recipient!
When the presenting of shamrocks ceremony was complete, Kate went inside the barracks and sipped on sherry before attending a luncheon.
The Duchess will continue to be busy having already attended Prince’s Foundation For Children and the Arts at the Dulwich Picture Gallery with Prince Charles and brushed up on her hockey skills on the newly pink and blue turf at the Olympic Park in London. Kate is currently accompanying the Queen on her 4-month Diamond Jubilee tour which celebrates her 60 years of her reign and covers England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Irelan
George Clooney was arrested in Washington DC on Friday. The Hollywood mega star was detained by police while protesting in front of the Embassy of Sudan in Washington, the United States.
Clooney, along with his father Nick rallied demanding the government of Sudan to stop the humanitarian crisis after President Omar al – Bashir to block access to food and aid to the Nuba Mountains in Sudan border with South Sudan. Clooney and his father were arrested after crossing police line.
George’s rep added that “they were protesting the violence committed by the government of Sudan on its own innocent men, women, and children. They were demanding they allow humanitarian aid into the country before it becomes the largest humanitarian crisis in the world.”
George had been in the nation’s capital all last week working toward this cause, after recently returning from his sixth trip to Sudan and South Sudan. He testified to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, had a meeting with President Obama, and held a press conference to bring light to the issue.
George was released from jail after posting $100 bail. He joked, “Really rough you can imagine . . . Have you ever been in a cell with these guys?”
