Kate Moss is set to don a tutu and dance a duet with legendary ballet dancer and Sex And The City star Mikhail Baryshnikov.
The 36-year-old supermodel, fashion designer and all round party girl has been taking private ballet lessons with renowned choreographer and director of the film Michael Clark ahead of a grueling three-month training regiment before filming starts in Marseille in July.
According to a source close to the production, Miss Moss has been advised to cut down on her partying lifestyle ahead of filming.
“Kate has to be fit, healthy and looking good, so her late nights and heavy partying have to be reduced. I know that she is very happy to do that and has talked about wanting to get fit and healthy herself,” says a source.
“It will be a movie made for them so she doesn’t have to be a prima ballerina, even though she is having classes. Baryshnikov is a beautiful man but he is in his 60s so you don’t ask him to jump really high or do this or do that. It will be interesting because it will be about them.”
“In Michael’s eye as a film-maker, the movement of the camera dances already by itself. It will be an extremely interesting collaboration and the film will be the result of the dance. It will be shown at some sort of fund-raiser but if anything it will go into a gallery where everybody can see it. I think that is how Michael sees it,” the source continued.
Kate will fly to New York next month to start working with Baryshnikov.
Baryshnikov, who appeared as Carrie Bradshaw’s artist boyfriend in Sex And The City, star started his career with the Kirov Ballet in St Petersburg before defecting to Canada in 1974.
