Nobody messes with Kyle and Jackie O. After losing a battle over the pair’s Facebook page to 2DayFM, the breakfast radio duo have proven that they always come out on top by launching their very own social media platform, kyleandjackieo.com.
B&T have reported that the innovative new social media platform, created in collaboration with Moment Media, and its content partner YuuZoo, combines all social media content about the duo, and allows followers to connect with their own profile pages.
The site updates every five minutes with any and all Kyle and Jackie O of KIIS 106.5 mentions or hashtags on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google News, Google+, Soundcloud, Youtube, Pinterest and Vimeo.
‘We knew we wanted something special, but the functionality of this new site, and the fact it’s the first entertainment based social network of its kind, has surpassed what we’d ever dreamt of,’ said Kyle and Jackie O.
With updates, private and group messaging, the site is a full spectrum interactive space for fans to connect with each other, as well as offering access to all things Kyle and Jackie O.
Fans can listen to Jackie’s playlist of the week, purchase songs directly from the weekly Top 40, and steam the Kyle and Jackie O Show live, as well as communicating directly with Kyle and Jackie in exclusive forums.
This news follows months of animosity between Kyle and Jackie O and former employer Southern Cross Austereo (SCA). Kyle brought things to a boil when he said that the pair’s replacement team on 2DayFM, consisting of Jules Lund, Merrick Watts, Sophie Monk and Mel B, was a ‘mess’
The conflict took to social media when 2DayFM refused to release control of the Kyle and Jackie O Facebook page. Creating a new facebook page, the controversial pair posted the following:
‘This is the new official Kyle and Jackie O Facebook page – sadly, our old one has been hijacked by 2DayFM and we are still fighting hard to get it back!
Just so you know, 2DayFM are trying to sneakily change the name of our old Kyle and Jackie O Facebook page to their new breakfast show without you knowing.’
With the new social media platform attracting much attention, both from fans and those impressed by its innovative approach, it seems that Kyle and Jackie O will have the last laugh.
