There’s not much you can do to improve your good ol’ vibrator. I mean, the Rabbit was basically the height of sophistication. Right?
Oh so wrong. A whole host of new designs have just been introduced onto the market, and Lady Friday is going to give you a juicy first look.
One of the major changes? Ann Summers, one of the United Kingdom’s biggest intimate store chains, has launched a new initiative for designs by women – with a TV show to go with it.
And the results have been fantastic – and will also be available worldwide.
The one getting the biggest buzz is The Ultimate O (pictured above), which is plugged as the toy to give any woman who’s never really had an orgasm her very first ticket to ride. It looks like a three-clawed monster, but each prong ‘works’ a different erogenous zone, and the combination is apparently sky-rocketing.
There’s also the Sweetheart, which is a clitoral vibe shaped like a huge loveheart to actually stimulate the whole clitoral area. Did you know that the clitoral nerves actually spread over most of the front of the pelvis? Now you do – and there’s a toy to match.
And, for more discreet ladies of pleasure, there’s the Panty Pin, a small, round vibe that can clip onto any underwear for a more intimate ride.
However, innovations haven’t just been limited to the UK.
The Magic Banana (pictured), which is such a smash it’s been featured everywhere from Oprah to Glamour, was actually invented by a yoga instructor in Canada.
Don’t get put off by the name – it’s actually the very first toy that allows you to strengthen your Kegel muscles while still getting pleasure.
It’s shaped a bit like a knotted skipping rope, but squeezing the flexible loop with your pelvic muscles guarantees both strong muscle buildup and some very good fun.
And from Japan come the adorable and very sleek Iroha vibes.
They come in three shapes – the Sukura, Yuki and Midori – each focussed on a different stimulation pattern, and are plump, pliable and fit the palm (pictured). Designed to look like the fat Japanese rice cakes called Mochi, they’re cute as well as intense.
Plus somebody has now done what should, in retrospect, have been absolutely obvious. They’ve invented a self-lubricating vibrator.
The Cascade company has developed the vibe to contain their own branded lube, and programmed it to release the proper amount at the touch of a button. The lube is water-based, of course, and won’t interfere with the mechanisms.
What do you think – are any of them worth taking for a test drive?
