Today we have a wrap-up from the Cannes Film Festival to tie up an incredible week of big stars. Unfortunately it’s not all good news in the entertainment world. Two legends of the silver screen have recently been hospitalised in critical conditions.
The Stars of Cannes
Mel Gibson’s latest film ‘The Beaver’ debuted at Cannes just days ago, attracting some huge names including Gibson and his co-star Jodie Foster. The model set made a huge appearance on the red carpet including Victoria’s Secret newest mum Doutzen Kroes, Bar Rafaeli and Naomi Campbell.
Earlier in the day, Jodie Foster had the tricky job of defending her co-star during a press conference that Mel Gibson skipped in favour of hanging out on his balcony chain smoking. Foster defended her co-star and told media that he, “was the right actor for the role… had a deep understanding of the struggles.”
Yesterday marked the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala hosted by Chopard in Antibes. The guest list included stars such as Jude Law, Uma Thurman, Kanye West, Gavin Rossdale, Karl Lagerfeld and so many more.
Bar Rafeli was also in attendance at the Gala and Roberto Cavalli’s party where she wore a very sexy nude beaded mini dress from the designer only to discover Victoria Silvsedt wearing the exact same dress! Bar seems to be swanning around Cannes unfazed by her recent break-up and it seems Leo doesn’t need a lot of time to recover either. He has been spotted cuddling up to Blake Lively on Steven Spielberg’s yacht, sparking rumours that Blake might be Leo’s rebound girl. We’ll be keeping a firm eye on them, that’s for sure!
Zsa Zsa Gabor in Coma
We are saddened to report that one of Hollywood’s greats. Zsa Zsa Gabor is in a coma. The 94-year-old actress was rushed to hospital in LA for emergency stomach surgery and then slipped into a coma. Her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, said Gabor has been unresponsive since 2am on Wednesday.
Bill Hunter Hospitalised
Australian actor Bill Hunter, who starred in many iconic films such as Muriel’s Wedding, The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Moulin Rouge and Australia, has been placed in a Melbourne hospice in a critical condition. The 71-year-old actor has been suffering from inoperable cancer.
