We’ve fallen head over heels in love with the latest makeup collection from luxury giant Chanel. Peter Phillips, Global Creative Director of Chanel make-up has nailed it yet again with this on-trend, wearable and luxuriously luminous release.
Coco Chanel’s love affair with pearls stems from their simplicity, understated elegance, sophistication and power to illuminate the face. It is these qualities that have inspired the Spring 2011 Collection. Like pearls, each and every piece in this collection delicately plays with the light, making it amazingly flattering on any skin tone as was indicative on the Chanel Ready to Wear Spring/Summer 2011 runway where the models wore the gorgeous pearlescent tones.
The collection
Eye Spy
We love the stunning limited edition Ombres Perlés de Chanel eyeshadow palette.
Five iridescent shades including pearl, rose and black are held in a tailor-made rectangular case as elegant and luxurious as we have come to expect from Chanel. Each shade in this very wearable collection has a rich, creamy texture that makes them a dream to apply and blend. The iridescent quality wakes up the eyes in a subtle, sophisticated way. This is a palette you will be using for years to come.
There is also a sunny quad palette, Les 4 Ombres, available and a pencil specifically adapted to complement the shades of the Spring collection.
Ombres Perlés de Chanel $100.00, Les 4 Ombres $98.00, Le Crayon Yeux $44.00
Pearly Pout
For the lips, there are two new Rouge Allure shades, two liners to match, two stylish additions to the classic lipsticks and two pretty glosses.
Rouge Allure $50.00, Le Crayon Lévres $44.00, Rouge Coco $50.00, Lévres Scintillantes $46.00
Rescu. Loves:
The Nakkar Levres Scintillantes gloss was an instant favourite with at Rescu. HQ. A soda pink infused with warming gold seems to go with just about
everything we put on and leaves you with a subtle sparkle.
Blushing Beauties
Two softly illuminated blush compacts have been released and both are right on trend; Joues Contraste a peachy rose and Poudre Universalle Compacte a pale pink.
Joues Contraste $71.00, Poudre Universalle Compacte $88.00
The New Nails
Three new nail polishes that will surely shape the nail trend for the season are also set for release. If you, like us, have not yet tired of the mystery and wearability of the black polish trend but desire a fresh take on it, Chanel has the answer.
Rescu. Recommends:
The Black Pearl polish has a pearly grey shimmer with hints of deep blue and green, just like an exotic black pearl. We forsee this one selling out in days! Le Vernis $39.00 each
Available 20th February 2011 from major department stores and selected pharmacies.
