Sometimes it seems that fashion news is becoming a wedding column – we’ve had more weddings this year than fashion shows.
However, “black tie with a Western twist”?
It could only be the dress code for the Americana wedding of the year – Lauren Bush, model, founder of the charity FEED and George Bush’s niece, and David Lauren, heir to the Ralph Lauren fortune.
Apparently, the fashion-heavy bash included a softball game, a picnic and a rodeo.
There are no pictures as yet of her dress, but Lauren Bush has refused to change her name to the repetitive Lauren Lauren, instead opting for Bush-Lauren.
And the bride’s dress designer? Obviously, her father-in-law.

Versace For H&M Sneak Peek
Donatella Versace has finally released a sneak peek of her much-anticipated capsule collection for H&M.
And her chosen model? The Australian Abbey-Lee Kershaw.
The dress itself is uber-colourful – a mix of bright fluoros and prints – and looks vaguely geisha-inspired. It’s also paired with matching pants and some seriously statement jewellery.
But will it have the particular Versace sex appeal that’s so distinctive, or will Donatella have toned it down for the American casual market?
If she has, it’s a bit of a pity, if you ask RESCU.

Lanvin Helps HIV-Positive Women
There’s a trend for charity-positive fashion these days, and Alber Elbaz’s Lanvin is the latest to get on board.
He’s made a line of dolls with the charity Dessine L’Espoir, to pair with the new Lanvin Petite line (for eminently fashionable children).
The dolls, of which there are four, are hand-embroidered by women in Swaziland living with HIV positive status, and a portion of the profits will go to benefiting them.
They’re 250 euro each, so they’re not a toy for children who’d be likely to try to strip off their (Lanvin-designed) clothes.
But as a Christmas stocking-stuffer for a fashion-loving Rescu. staffer? Yes please.

Adele On The Cover Of British Vogue: ‘I Throw Up A Lot’
Fashion is having a plus-size moment, as is proven by the unashamedly fuller-figured singer Adele on the cover of this month’s British Vogue.
The singer’s body is obscured, which is making some body campaigners slightly angry – after all, why be plus-size positive and then hide a plus-size body? – but it’s her discussion inside which is getting the most attention.
Adele reveals that she vomits regularly before her performances, but that the sicker she is, “the more she enjoys the performance”.
She’s also candid about her size, saying it just doesn’t matter to her, and that she doesn’t want to be one of the people who “let it rule their lives”.
She does confess to body insecurities, but hopefully a Vogue cover will go a long way to reassure her.
