Excitement is in the air in the Rescu. office as we experiment with this wonderful new tool. To use it, all you have to do is upload your own photo and choose your favourite colours for your lips, eyes and cheeks. You can also save your new looks and share them with your friends on Facebook.
And if you’re too shy to upload your photo, you can use the provided image of Estée Lauder model Hilary Rhoda.
The Estée Lauder Virtual Makeup Tool is the first-ever branded interactive makeup tool of its kind. Its state-of-the-art technology enables you to play with the Estée Lauder make-up collection, customise looks product by product, or instantly apply ‘one click looks’ from current advertising campaigns and new colour collections. This means you don’t even need to go into a store to select the colours that flatter you the most.
Estée Lauder worked with TAAZ.com to create the most realistic visual experience. The innovative computer vision techniques identify areas where make-up should be properly applied to realistically contour the make-up to the shape of the face. So you are able to see not only the colour, but also the finish and coverage of each product before making a purchase. This puts an end to buying make-up that looks amazing in the store, but not as good in reality.
Rescu. Road Test:
We were really impressed with this virtual makeover tool. Even though we’d read the promotional fact sheet, we were still surprised at how advanced this program is. Not only can you choose your shade of mascara, you can select how much mascara you wish to ‘apply’ (we went for maximum wattage!).
When it comes to eye liner, you can ‘smudge’ it, and select one of four eyeliner designs. So much choice!
Choosing a lipstick was also fun. And when you select lipstick, the Widget suggests the ideal colour match for a lip pencil. You can even add a lipgloss top coat to your lipstick.
We also love the ‘Zoom’ function for close-ups, and the Before and After option so you can see how much better you look after your makeover.
Yes, obviously we’re addicted (but it’s all in the name of beauty research).
