Gail Elliot brought a front row of celebrities to her fashion week show for Little Joe Woman. The collection was feminine, easy to wear and packed with Summer essentials.
After knowing the in and out of the modelling world, with a successful career during the 80’s and early 90’s, Gail Elliot took to the designer world, with her label Little Joe Woman. With such a huge celebrity following for the label, it was no surprise yesterday to see the front row of the Little Joe Woman show packed with styling A-listers like Lara Bingle and Deborah Hutton.
The show began with a fierce hip hop beat by Jay-z and Rihanna, and models began to sleek out onto the runway. The collection was largely based around moss green and ochre, in a military inspired look. But in true Little Joe style, it was also very feminine with soft pinks and splashes of glamorous detail.
A delicate sequinned vest was worn over cute moss green shorts and a top, bringing a strong and confident look, whilst a nude coloured off the shoulder dress played the collection down again to a ultra-femme feel. Sequins appeared in many belts, worn over loose fitted cotton shirts and shorts.
Whilst the colour palette was fairly consistent of greens and pastel pinks, there were confident splashes of floral print blazers that were clearly crowd favourites. Hemlines were taken from mini shorts at the beginning down to long floating maxi dresses, and a denim blazer was worn casually with the cuffs rolled up.
The models were fresh faced, with their hair worn out and brushed softly, adding to the casual and easy to wear pieces. Large gold hoop earrings with spinning discs remained as the key accessory, and Gail brought out a series of flare cut printed pants to add to a 70’s inspired look.
Overall the collection was accessible and feminine, with casual cotton maxi dresses, Summer shorts and open collared shirts. The styling was minimal, as pieces were matched together to represent the Little Joe Woman; someone who appreciates style but wants comfort too! We are predicting this collection will be big over Summer, for it’s easy to wear appeal.
