London Fashion Week always promises edgy, out-there and gorgeous beauty trends to inspire us over spring and summer. Take a look at our favourite lust-worthy hair and make up looks from the London runway.
Seductive Red Lips At Temperley London
Temperley London’s outstanding bright red lip was given a youthful twist with an extra coating of lip gloss, creating a Lolita-esque mix of innocence and sexiness. We admire the restraint used with the rest of the make up, because the model’s flawless, neutral base drew our eyes straight to this seductive lip look.
Revlon’s Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman says about creating this youthful yet seductive look:
“I wanted to create a look reminiscent of the Bianca Jagger / Studio 54 era. A chic look, epitomising a contemporary Grace Kelly. I used very little color on the cheeks, gave definition to the eyes and finished with an impact lip.”

Sleek And Chic Hair At Sass and Bide
Australia’s fashion dream team Sass and Bide opted for sleek and masculine locks to compliment their feminine designs and flowing dresses. We love how they’ve brought cornrows onto the runway and made them look sophisticated. The way the plaits created such a dramatic contrast with the shiny sleekness of the front of the hair made this look a standout for us.
Ghd Hair Director, Renya Xydis, tells us how we can recreate this look at home:
- Starting with a middle part, wet the hair with ghd Straight & Smooth Spray
- Section the hair into 3 even parts
- Taking the middle section at the back of the head, cornrow into seven equal sections starting at the crown and tie at the nape of the neck
- Pull the two side sections around to the back and tie at the nape of the neck, then smooth out the ponytails using the ghd Gold Max Styler.
- Basket weave all the ponytails together
- Add ghd Straight & Tame Cream to smooth out the corn rows
- Finish with ghd Final Fix Hairspray all over, followed by ghd Final Shine Spray
Rose Bitten Lips At Erdem
Erdem’s collection was inspired by the film ‘In The Mood For Love’ and romance has definitely seeped into the beauty look with a fresh and beautiful rose-stained lip. M.A.C’s Make Up Director, Andrew Gallimore refers to the pout as a cinematic “blurry lip” which is complimented by roughed-up, boyish brows.

Candy-Coloured Streaks At Mulberry
Mulberry’s 60’s bouffant hairdo received a modern twist with pastel streaks of pale pink, lemon and blue added to the models hair. Candy-coloured hair was a big hit at London Fashion Week this year. Charlotte Free brightened up the catwalk with her models neon pink do’s, Narciso Rodriguez chose coloured roots and Thakoon went for powder pink and blue locks to compliment his designs.

Crazy Colour At Vivienne Westwood Red Label
Ethereal, otherworldly and absolutely beautiful, this make up look created by M.A.C. reminds us that make up really is an art. We might not be trying to replicate this exact look at home any time soon, but we can take inspiration from the stunning greens and vibrant blues used and incorporate them into our own standout eye look for spring.

Pretty, Punk At House Of Holland
Channelling the edginess of England’s punk scene with thick, smudged black eyeliner on the lower lash line, this look is softened perfectly by the beautiful orangey-peach colour on the eyelid. We love this look because it is so easy to achieve, just remember to tone down the rest of your make up so your eyes really pop.
70’s Glamour At Jaeger
Keeping with the 70’s inspired theme of Jaeger’s summer collection, the hair utilised an ever-popular side part and was swept elegantly into an extremely well kept low-side pony tail. We are very excited to rock this chic look over summer with our oversized sunglasses in tow.
Pantene Pro-V’s Global Ambassador, Sam McKnight tells is how we can get this luxurious look:
- Work Pantene Pro-V Style Body Builder Mousse through damp hair and blow dry using a round brush to create a smooth texture. When the hair is dry, using medium barrel heated tongs, tong hair from halfway down and clip in to place to set (you could use heated rollers for this).
- Remove the curled section and brush through with a nylon bristle brush. Using a fine toothed comb, create a low side parting, the parting should be in line with the high point of the eyebrow and should reach right back to the crown of the head.
- Comb the hair over the ear and secure with elastic in a low side pony tail on the opposite side to the parting. Using a soft bristle brush, brush the pony tail curl in place to create one gorgeous curl.
- Set the style in spray with Pantene Pro-V Style Body Builder Hairspray.
