On Tuesday, December 1, hundreds of makeup artists from M?A?C Cosmetics stores will roll up their sleeves to participate in volunteer activities, in a company-wide effort to commemorate World AIDS Day. The volunteer initiative is part of a global effort that includes hundreds of makeup artists in 56 North American cities and 24 countries.
M·A·C artists from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane will donate their time and skills at charities in each city. In Sydney, artists will visit the Sydney Children’s Hospital in support of Camp Goodtime, the national camp for children and families living with HIV and a new grantee of the M·A·C AIDS Fund (MAF). In Melbourne, they will visit the Victorian AIDS Council, while M·A·C Artists will also be on hand at the Queensland Association for Healthy Communities’ Red Luncheon.
The M·A·C AIDS Fund, was established in 1994 to support men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS globally. As the largest corporate non-pharmaceutical giver in the arena, MAF is committed to addressing the link between poverty and HIV/AIDS by supporting diverse organizations around the world that provide a wide range of services to people living with HIV/AIDS.
To date, MAF has raised over $150 Million (U.S.) exclusively through the sale of M·A·C’s VIVA GLAM Lipstick and Lipglass, donating 100 percent of the sale price to fight HIV/AIDS.
