Rodarte‘s Spring/Summer 2011 collection was reminiscent of the designer sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s childhood – 70s Northern California suburbia with uncomplicated, precise hourglasses in leather wrap skirts and black lace blouses; warm wooden tones and golden hues.
The collection was a step away from the Mulleavys’ studied quirkiness and offered precision in cropped cutaway jackets and pleated trousers.

M·A·C’s James Kaliardos matched the make-up to evoke images of “Northern California, giant redwoods and the gold rush of 1849.”
Eyes:
1. Kaliardos blended NC42 select cover-up concealer onto the eyelids.
2. He then painted 36 Lash with Golden Lemon pigment and applied it to the lash line.
3. Golden Lemon pigment was further blended onto the inner and outer corners of the eyes.
4. I Get No Kick eye kohl (available in 2011) was drawn onto the waterlines of the eyes.
Lips:
1. M·A·C pro lip erase in dim was applied as a base to the lips.
2. Kaliardos layered M·A·C pro rose gold metal pigment and golden lemon pigment over lip erase for golden lips.
Face:
1. Kaliardos perfected the skin with Studio Sculpt foundation for an eggshell finish.
2. He brushed Prep + Prime transparent finishing powder down the t-zone.
3. Kaliardos contoured the cheekbones and temples with Quarry eye shadow.
4. Pearl Cream colour base was applied high on the cheekbones.
