Metalicus’ Spring/Summer 2010 collection is titled the “joie de verve”, the joy of living. It certainly made us feel joyful with its bright, summery colours like electro yellow and neon blue. With clothes like this around the corner, we’re counting down the days until Spring…
We loved the energy, confidence and colours of the Metalicus preview show, where 23 looks were showcased.
Highlights included neo tribal prints in dresses, skirts and scarves. Clever layering of key pieces showing lattice detailing through new season designs created directional looks. Sheers, ruffles and intermixing textures also appeared in the collection.
Metalicus’ Head Designer, Vanessa Rochman, said; “The collection is a celebration of life and an exploration of pop colours. The lines are sharp and clean and the shapes are effortless. The must have pieces are the ‘modern warrior dress’ in poppy blue and the ‘sleek chic bodysuit’ in garden.”
The models’ sleek hair was created by Barney Martin for Kevin Murphy, while the talented Linda Jefferyes for M.A.C was in charge of the make-up.
High profile guests included Harper’s Bazaar Editor Edwina McCann, Russh Editor-In-Chief Jess Blanch, Vogue Fashion Editor Meg Gray, Madison Editor Elizabeth Renkert, and Sydney Morning Herald Fashion Editor Kellie Hush.
