RESCU brings you the wrap of the Manning Cartell Spring Summer 2013/14 collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2013;
The Fash pack spent their time well whilst waiting in line for the Manning Cartell SS 2013/14 show; street style photographers were out in force, spanning out across the concrete and plucking the sartorially successful out for a solo photo. Present during the snapping frenzy were Kate Waterhouse wearing Burberry, Gracie Otto and streetstyle photographer Phil Oh slipping through the throngs to find his place.
The show was held at The Shed, an external industrial facility outside of the main Carriageworks structure. We don’t know why more shows weren’t held there- it is an expansive, dramatic space with giant roller doors, and corrugated iron walls. The show was one of the coolest so far, and everyone knew it.
From the opening pounding beats of the girl-rap song, the mood of reckless insouciance was set, and it merely built as look after look swept down the runway. Wide-strapped white leather shoes, and well, white everything else was the order of the day; from thick quilted midriff tops to white lace dress overlay. Tribal braids down the centre of the head, and bold geo-prints strengthened the edgy ‘urban warrior’ vibe.
RESCU loved: Everything! If we have to pick just one, the white embroidery and organza shirt and skirt (pictured above.) Particularly the zipper detailing and the pattern reminiscent of birds in flight.
