Mary Katrantzou’s first standalone collection was a splash of surreal digital print masterpieces that echoed 70s conceptual art/fashion photography. Her designs were a performance of houses and swimming pools in three dimensions in the symmetrical way prints were shifted onto starkly tailored chiffon dresses and skirts.
“I wanted to put the room on the woman, rather than the woman in the room,” Katrantzou said post-show.
Not to be left unparalleled, M·A·C’s Val Garland’s makeup was, well, not makeup, but an “icy look inspired by a palette of Laduree pastels.”
Eyes:
1. Garland blended Washed Out Creamshadow (available in 2011) and Digit Eye shadow onto upper lid and took it up to brow using a 217 brush.
2. She applied Fascinating Eye Kohl to the lower water line.
Lips:
Garland patted Saint Germain Lipstick over lip conditioner on the lips.
Face:
1. Garland applied Face and Body Foundation onto moisturised skin using a 187 brush.
2. She then used Select Moisture cover Concealer to conceal and as a highlighter on top of cheek and centre of nose.
3. For the final touch, Garland applied Pink Swoon Powder Blush to centre of cheeks with a 138 brush.
