Model and designer Megan Gale gave birth to her first child yesterday on May 13th 2014. The baby boy, yet to be named, came in at 8.5 pounds at 4:47pm.
The former David Jones ambassador and her boyfriend Shaun Hampson posted this image of the new families hands to Instagram earlier today, sharing their joy with the world.
“Needless to say, Shaun and I are completely smitten with him and we’re beyond blessed to have such a healthy baby”.
Despite the 13 year age gap between Gale, 38 and Hampson, 25, the model told WHO magazine that the Richmond AFL player is ‘the most mature guy I’ve ever dated. He’s an old soul’.
The Project Runway host, who posed nude for Marie Claire in her third trimester, opened up about the ups and downs of her pregnancy and spoke out about the pressure women feel to get pregnant.
“That’s something I’ve always been disappointed in, and I think a lot of women feel it. I would never ask a woman why she hasn’t had kids yet… If there’s any message I want to send it’s for people to please stop prodding women about when they’re going to fall pregnant.”
The new mother has also said she was concerned about the likelihood of falling pregnant considering her age, but stayed positive throughout the process.
The model will be taking some time off to spend at home with her newborn, saying she really wants to throw herself into the role of motherhood. “I applaud women who go back to work immediately because I think it must be hard to juggle it…I’m really fortunate I’m in the position where I can take time off. I really do want to switch off from everything.” Hampson will be playing out the remainder of the AFL season with the Richmond Tigers.
