The artist formerly known as Scary Spice, Mel B, is gearing up to come down under for yet another stint on Aussie television. It’s been an interesting little shuffle for Aussie TV – the star has been poached from Channel Seven’s roster by Nine who have announced her as the first judge on the new panel for Australia’s Got Talent, a show that was ditched by Seven last year.
The new role means Mel B won’t be returning to Seven’s X Factor or fulfilling the rumoured role as Daniel Macpherson’s co-host on Dancing with the Stars. Of the new role, Mel B said, “I’m having a wonderful time working with the America’s Got Talent team and I can’t wait for Australia’s Got Talent on Nine. I know we will have a blast, and I’m sure some fireworks as well.”
We’re already looking forward to hearing some of the spicy star’s comments on Australia’s Got Talent!
Never one to take a break, Beyoncé has released a new single to her website called ‘Bow Down/I Been On’. The track, which is the first new one fans have heard since the release of her 2011 LP ‘Four’, is produced by Hit Boy, who has been making waves since it was revealed he was the man behind Kanye West and Jay-Z’s super popular track Ni***s in Paris. It’s a far grittier, less pop-focused track from the star and, we have to say, we sort of love it.
In this first track from the sessions leading up to her upcoming fifth solo album, Bey, ever the girl-power patron, sings, “I took some time to live my life, but don’t think I’m just his little wife.” We’re sure this one will quickly become many women’s power-up anthem. Listen here.
For the second year running talk-show host Oprah has topped Forbes list of most influential celebrities for 2013. The 59-year-old won with a 48 per cent landslide vote in the survey that ranks 7500 celebrities by 46 different attributes.
It hasn’t been the best year for Winfrey – OWN (Oprah Winrey Network) has struggled in the ratings department, only experiencing a boost with the controversial Lance Armstrong interview in January.
However, this clearly hasn’t had a negative impact on her standing though, the star out-ranked Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorese, Ron Howard and Star Wars creator George Lucas in the survey and two of her protégés, Dr Oz and Suze Orman, managed to score spots in the top ten proving her influence further.
