As Melinda O’Rourke is one of Australia’s key industry experts in the luxury brands and services department, we expected her Christmas wishlist to be packed with items of extreme luxe decadence – and we weren’t wrong.

Prior to founding the dynamic management firm MO Luxury, Melinda O’Rourke rose to luxury credibility due to her longstanding management expertise with Prada, Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel Australia.
Rescu. finds out what’s on this luxury queens wishlist and why…
1. Dolce & Gabbana SS11 Collection
‘I would love anything from their almost all white SS11 collection! I always admire Dolce & Gabbana for their collections; its high fashion, loud at times and beautiful but often not ‘right’ for me’. However when I saw their latest collection, it was more relaxed, very feminine yet sexy and wonderful for an Australian summer; it is an ethereal dream! I was hooked from look 1 through to 80!’

(The D&G SS11 Collection is available nationwide in selected boutiques.)
2. Black Sapphire and Diamond Canturi Drop Earrings
‘So unique, with stunning craftsmanship and I love anything bordering on art deco; I am seriously mesmerised by these Metropolis black sapphire cocktail beauties. Featuring the sultry sophistication of Australian black sapphires and the vibrancy of the sparkling white diamonds, let’s just say it wouldn’t be Christmas without them!’

(Canturi: 1300 883 883, www.canturi.com Designed by Stefano Canturi, part of the Metropolis collection – RRP $39,200)
3. Tigerlily Bikinis
‘At least two each Christmas is a must. The prints are always great and the fit is just perfect, I am a long-term fan.’

(Available from selected David Jones department stores and retailers nationally. For stockists and designs visit www.tigerlilyswimwear.com.au )
4. Apple Ipad
‘Yes I have been waiting for Santa Claus to deliver this and not a nude version; it has to be in the Louis Vuitton cover. The Ipad screen is very special and how better to keep it safe and chic than in an all-in-one carry case!’

(The Apple Ipad is available from all Apple stores and Apple authorized reseller stores nationwide – Prices start from $629)
5. A zoo of metaphysical animals from World Vision’s Smiles Christmas Catalogue
‘Because giving is better than receiving.’
(Visit www.worldvision.com.au to make a Christmas donation yourself)
